To help students understand the expectations, you could share materials from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCV_Mt-jnw8PaN74vI8ugEpw\/videos\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find Me in Paris<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> along with a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/teachersfirst.com\/lessons\/rubrics\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rubric<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the various parts of the project. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You could ask the students to create a number of items including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>A storyboard:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Even if you don\u2019t require students to write out the entire movie script, they will need to create a plot to work from. \u00a0Use ReadWriteThink\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.readwritethink.org\/classroom-resources\/student-interactives\/story-30008.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Story Map<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=16818\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) or <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.readwritethink.org\/classroom-resources\/student-interactives\/plot-diagram-30040.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plot Diagram<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to help students organize the events in their story. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>A video trailer:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Every movie needs a trailer video. \u00a0Have students use <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/spark.adobe.com\/edu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adobe Spark Video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=18378\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/animoto.com\/education\/classroom\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Animoto<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=10388\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) to create a video summary of their story. \u00a0You can \u201cpunch up\u201d this activity by narrating the video using a student-created MP3 for the soundtrack. \u00a0Recording the file is easy with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/online-voice-recorder.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Online Voice Recorder<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=15223\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>A movie poster<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Share this sample from <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cottonwood.tv\/portfolio\/find-me-in-paris\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find me in Paris<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> before introducing students to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bighugelabs.com\/poster.php\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BigHugeLabs\u2019 Movie Poster Maker<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=12376\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). \u00a0Be sure to create an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bighugelabs.com\/education.php\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">educator\u2019s account<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> first to make assignment submission easier. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>A Facebook page<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Since fans love to see the thoughts of their favorite characters, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classtools.net\/FB\/home-page\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fakebook<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=14197\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) page would be a great addition to this project. \u00a0Students would need to think critically about how their historical character might think and speak. Other social Media templates are available <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/henrico.k12.va.us\/powerupteaching\/resources\/social-media-templates?authuser=0\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After they are done creating, students can share their work with each other in a number of ways to get feedback. Using <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livelingua.com\/twiducate\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twiducate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=10800\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) students can post to a class social sharing space. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/padlet.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Padlet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=10007\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) \u00a0is also a great way to facilitate student sharing and feedback. If your school uses a learning management system such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edmodo.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Edmodo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=10606\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) students can certainly share their work in that environment as well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Helping students understand\u00a0copyright, creative commons and attribution is very important. This project would be the perfect place to include a few <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=17737\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital Citizenship<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mini-lessons.
