They are available for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weareteachers.com\/fantasy-books-for-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">all ages<\/a>, from elementary to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.readbrightly.com\/time-favorite-fantasy-books-tweens-teens\/\" target=\"_blank\">teens\/tweens<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/amyahsgigi\/fantasy-unit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resources<\/a> are available, whether you want to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.commonsense.org\/education\/lesson-plans\/learning-the-components-of-fantasy-stories\" target=\"_blank\">introduce the genre<\/a>, teach a whole\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/teachers.yale.edu\/curriculum\/viewer\/initiative_06.03.08_u\" target=\"_blank\">unit<\/a>, or\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sjsu.edu\/faculty\/mary.warner\/StudentLinks\/2004_Fall\/fantasylitKP.htm\" target=\"_blank\">use the genre to teach to your standards<\/a>. Fantasy books can be used for\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/yaoutsidethelines.blogspot.com\/2014\/03\/teaching-fantasy-complete-with-lesson.html\" target=\"_blank\">project-based learning<\/a>, as a lead-in to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ozaria.com\/play\/chapter-1-sky-mountain?hour_of_code=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">coding adventure<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vocabulary.com\/articles\/tips-and-tricks\/genre-study-resources-for-teaching-fantasy-fiction-high-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reading choice assignments<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.journalbuddies.com\/creative-writing-2\/fantasy-writing-prompts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">writing<\/a> activities, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scholastic.com\/teachers\/lesson-plans\/teaching-content\/worlds-fantasy-online\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more<\/a>! Whatever you choose to do with fantasy books, students will be engaged and using their imaginations throughout the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.houghtonmifflinbooks.com\/features\/lordoftheringstrilogy\/lessons\/one\/\" target=\"_blank\">activities<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.slj.com\/afuse8production\/2020\/12\/21\/31-days-31-lists-2020-science-fiction-for-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Science fiction books<\/a>&nbsp;cover a wide range of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/bookriot.com\/science-fiction-books-for-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">subject matter<\/a>&nbsp;and can be used in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidbrin.com\/sfteaches.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">various ways in the classroom<\/a>, including to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/observatory.tec.mx\/edu-news\/innovation-in-education-science-fiction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">teach innovation<\/a>. There are books available for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/imaginationsoup.net\/best-science-fiction-books-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">all grade levels<\/a>. Use science fiction to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cornerstone.lib.mnsu.edu\/cgi\/viewcontent.cgi?referer=&amp;httpsredir=1&amp;article=1262&amp;context=etds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">teach science facts<\/a>, even though&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidescience.org\/news\/using-science-fiction-educate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">not all science fiction is scientifically accurate<\/a>. Science fiction can also be used in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.educationworld.com\/a_curr\/science-fiction-stem-engagement-technology.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">teaching STEAM<\/a>&nbsp;or to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/wnwi0JRr_Fc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">remix original stories<\/a>&nbsp;in English. Finally,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.careerteachers.co.uk\/career-advice\/blog\/how-science-fiction-in-education-can-inspire-students-to-fulfil-their-potential\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inspire students<\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/teachersinstitute.yale.edu\/curriculum\/units\/1995\/2\/95.02.01.x.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wonder<\/a>&nbsp;and reach for the stars with sci-fi!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Engage your students with fantasy and science fiction by celebrating Tolkien and Wells this week!
