There are a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.colorincolorado.org\/booklist\/code-talkers-books-all-ages\" target=\"_blank\">wide variety of books<\/a> available for all ages on the subject. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Code-Talker-Novel-Navajo-Marines\/dp\/0142405965\/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=&amp;sr=\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two<\/em> by Joseph Bruchac<\/a> is one of the most well-known and makes a great <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/opi.mt.gov\/Portals\/182\/Page%20Files\/Indian%20Education\/Language%20Arts\/Code%20Talker.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">novel study<\/a> for students in grades 7-9. Younger students will be drawn in by a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/3eIvnCAlP0Y\" target=\"_blank\">nonfiction read aloud<\/a> of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Navajo-Code-Talkers-We-People\/dp\/0756510201\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Navajo Code Talkers<\/em> by Andrew Santella<\/a>. Primary sources are always a big attraction for students. Many different kinds of primary sources about Navajo Code Talkers exist, including document-based primary sources like the &#8220;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/education\/lessons\/code-talkers\" target=\"_blank\">Memorandum Regarding the Enlistment of Navajo Indians<\/a>,&#8221; the<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.navy.mil\/research\/library\/online-reading-room\/title-list-alphabetically\/n\/navajo-code-talker-dictionary.html\">Navajo Code Talkers&#8217; Dictionary<\/a><\/em>, written <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.loc.gov\/navajo-code-talkers\">first-person narratives from the Library of Congress<\/a>, and a wide <a href=\"https:\/\/library.nau.edu\/speccoll\/exhibits\/indigenous_voices\/navajo\/codetalkers.html\">variety of documents and images from Northern Arizona University<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nhpbs.org\/learnathome\/?resource=3400\" target=\"_blank\">lesson plans<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/classroom.synonym.com\/make-cryptic-code-10046599.html\" target=\"_blank\">activities<\/a>, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/navajocodetalkers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">resources<\/a> about the Navajo Code Talkers that you can use in your classes. The National Museum of the American Indian has curated a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/americanindian.si.edu\/nk360\/code-talkers\/\" target=\"_blank\">wide variety of resources<\/a> for teachers and students. Many general lesson plans are available for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/geoalliance.asu.edu\/node\/134\" target=\"_blank\">elementary<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eisenhowerfoundation.net\/sites\/default\/files\/2020-05\/Spy%20Kids-Code%20Talkers%20%20%28full%20version%29.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">middle<\/a>, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cpb-us-e2.wpmucdn.com\/sites.sfcc.edu\/dist\/c\/2\/files\/2022\/01\/Santa-Fe-National-Cemetery-Code-Talkers-Lesson.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">high school<\/a>. There are even specialized lessons available for subject areas like <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/intersectingart.umn.edu\/?lesson\/21\" target=\"_blank\">art<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/chromebookapphub.withgoogle.com\/ideas\/advanced-coding-with-khan-academy\" target=\"_blank\">computer science<\/a>.
