The chart on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stemwomen.com\/women-in-stem-statistics-progress-and-challenges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this page<\/a> shows that the number of women graduating in STEM fields only increased by two percent between 2015 and 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharing authentic and genuine accomplishments of women in STEM careers allows girls to see STEM as exciting and relatable when considering their educational goals and future careers. TeachersFirst&#8217;s new Special Topics page, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/spectopics\/womenstem.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Changemakers: Women in STEM<\/a>, features over twenty resources dedicated to featuring the breakthroughs and accomplishments of women in STEM fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One excellent resource included in the Changemakers: Women in STEM Special Topics collection is the If\/Then Collection (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachersfirst.com\/single.cfm?id=19314\">reviewed here<\/a>). It provides access to authentic and relatable images of real women in STEM, including videos, photos, educational activities, and partner collections. Diverse careers in STEM featured on the site include explorers, sports, health fields, conservation, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keeping National DNA Day in mind, let\u2019s look at the information about women in genetics shared by If\/Then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Printable Posters<\/strong> &#8211; This free, downloadable poster series, \u201cThis is What a Scientist Looks Like,\u201d features three women scientists. Click on the share link of the thumbnail image and accept the user agreement to access the document in several different formats, including a code with a direct link, embed code, or a shareable link, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/ifthen.widen.net\/view\/pdf\/f1gju7juat\/IfThen_Ambassador-Posters_PRINT_16.pdf?t.download=true&amp;x.portal_shortcode_generated=9ymlrpce&amp;x.app=portals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this poster<\/a> featuring Dr. Ahna Skop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Videos<\/strong> &#8211; Check out these profiles of women in genetics and discussions of how they use STEM in their jobs. In <a href=\"https:\/\/ifthen.widen.net\/view\/video\/sheomt7ad5\/Dr.-Lauren-Esposito-How-She-Uses-STEM-In-Her-Job-.mp4?x.portal_shortcode_generated=9ymlrpce&amp;x.app=portals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this video,<\/a> Lauren Esposito discusses her work in the lab and out in the field, along with her collection of North American scorpions, the largest in the world.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Activity Sheets<\/strong> &#8211; This searchable collection offers several options for hands-on experiments and activities, such as this one provided by GoldieBlox, a partner of If\/Then, which demonstrates how to use <a href=\"https:\/\/ifthen.widen.net\/s\/rfdr8bftpr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Microscopic Marbling<\/a> to recreate how cells look under a microscope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dig deeper into the resources provided by If\/Then by visiting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifthencollection.org\/educators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Educator Hub<\/a>.
