By tracking facial expressions and body movements in real time, the platform brings doodles to life, making it easy for users to create short animations without any coding or design experience. Begin by clicking the start button and allowing Scroobly to access your device's camera. Select an animation option from the toolbar below your image, and select record. Scroobly will record your movements within the animation for up to 15 seconds. Options for saving include exporting as a GIF, a PNG sequence, or a Doodle file. GearSketch is an online environment for users to explore and experiment with drawing and connecting gears. No registration is required to begin using this site. Draw a circle to create a gear, then click on the outside edge of the gear to draw a line that determines whether the gear rotates clockwise or counterclockwise. Click play to see your gear turn. Add additional gears and move them to fit together or inside of each other to see the gears interact. Users can also draw a circle around gears that don't fit together to create a chain and see how the gears work together. The more you add, the more engaging this site becomes! Although GearSketch doesn't offer registration, users can share boards using the link found in the cloud icon at the top of the site.

You can start with just a script (text), and it will create a talking video from that text without having to film yourself or record voice-overs manually. Choose avatars to become digital presenters who deliver your script. Pick from hundreds of stock video avatars or create a custom avatar that resembles you. HeyGen supports multiple languages and voices, which can be helpful if you teach multilingual classes or provide translations. After creating an account, use the dashboard to begin a project, and follow the prompts to add a script or instructions for the video. HeyGen provides a plan for the video; after approving it, wait for the video to become available. When ready, share the video using the public link, embed code, via social media links, or download to your device. Free accounts allow users to create up to 3 videos per month, each up to 3 minutes long, using standard video processing. In addition, free plans provide access to one custom video avatar and over five hundred stock video avatars.

Cloud Stop Motion provides all of the tools you need without downloading software, and you can use it on any browser. Choose start and allow access to your device's camera to enable the camera to take pictures of items to use in your videos. Follow the instructions to add images, video, text, and sound. When complete, export your video to your device as an MP4 video file or create a free class or school account with Cloud Stop Motion to save up to 2GB in video files. Class and school accounts also offer members the ability to create unlimited student accounts and student groups.

Create animated GIFs using Brush Ninja's paint tools and online editor. Use the paintbrushes to draw and color each frame. The toolbox contains a variety of features, including pencils, text, shapes, and more. Use the control panel to adjust and play the animation. The timeline lets you see the frames that make up an animation, and you can drag and drop any frame to change the order. When finished, export your GIF as an image for each frame, an animated GIF, or as an animated GIF adjusted for X (formerly Twitter). Clicking the Resources tab at the top, you'll find Lesson Plans, Videos, Free Downloads (i.e., educational clipart), and more.

Animaker is a web-based animated video creation tool that allows students and teachers to design cartoons, presentations, and short videos using ready-made templates and drag-and-drop features. With the free plan, users can create projects using built-in characters, backgrounds, text, and voice tools, including basic lip-sync and simple animations. The free version limits the number of exports per month and may include watermarks, but it still provides enough features for classroom projects, storytelling, and presentations. Animaker provides tutorial videos on YouTube to help users learn the tools, so access to YouTube may be needed in some school districts to view the help guides.

In the Classroom
Animaker is an online animation and video creation tool that can be used on any device with internet access, making it a good choice for BYOD or blended classrooms because no software download is required. The free plan allows students to create animated videos using templates, characters, text, and voice tools, but it limits the number of exports per month and may include a watermark on finished videos. While paid plans include additional collaboration and workspace features, the free version still works well for individual or small-group projects in the classroom. Students should have some basic understanding of how to use the editor, so creating a class video together on an interactive whiteboard or projector before assigning independent work is helpful. Animaker can be used to extend learning by having students create commercials, science project previews, animated summaries, infographics, or short videos in any subject area, such as advertisements for an organism, a literary character, or a travel commercial for a country being studied. Design, organize, animate, and publish creations using Animatron. Use Animatron's backgrounds and characters, or upload your own. Be sure to take advantage of the Tutorials and Tips, and the Knowledge Base for a full understanding of the many features available. Registration isn't required to create an Animatron project; however, you will need to register to save and share. Free accounts allow users to create up to 5 public projects with up to 2GB of storage (50 GB/month). The Tutorials are in video format and reside on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, the video tutorials may not be viewable.

In the Classroom
Challenge older students to create their own Animatrons. Students can use Animatron to share their ideas or to "prototype" an idea. Students can create videos to show math processes, explanations of complex concepts, review new learning, teach others, explain scientific processes, tell stories, or present research. Flip your classroom using Animatron presentations. Use Animatron to create teacher-authored animations for students in ANY grade. Animatron is an excellent way to present new information or ideas for discussion. It is an easy way to prepare information for the class when a substitute is coming. Share Animatron creations on your website or blog for students to review at home. Use an Animatron video on the first day of school to explain class rules or give an exciting introduction to the year ahead. Use Animatron to create movies or presentations for back-to-school night or conference nights to display on your interactive whiteboard or with a projector. Sketchfab is a large online community for publishing and viewing 3D materials. Think of it as YouTube for 3D. Explore the site to find over half a million uploads of animations, models, and images. Use the keyword search to find specific content or browse through the different categories. Embed or share images using links provided with each image. If you create your own 3D content, free membership allows you to upload using several different file types. Use their online editor to adjust and fine-tune your creations.

In the Classroom
Share some of the many 3D models such as a human heart, the White House, or monarch butterflies. Display these on an interactive whiteboard or with a projector. Share with students with advanced knowledge of gaming and 3D as a resource for sharing their own 3D models and viewing materials made by others. If your school has a computer club, share this site with its sponsor for use with students. Do you or someone on your campus have a 3D printer? Explore and find printables to download and print. If you don't have access to a 3D printer you may want to write a grant for one.
