OK2Ask
- Professional Learning Workshops FAQ
About Our Workshops
What are OK2Ask workshops?
OK2Ask is a series of free professional development workshops for educators provided by The Source for Learning, Inc., a
nonprofit organization that's supported educational excellence for more than 40 years.
Who leads these sessions?
Our workshops are facilitated by experienced educators and technology coaches who bring a
wealth of real-world expertise in technology integration. All of our facilitators hold
advanced degrees in education and maintain industry-standard certifications.
What can I expect from a typical workshop?
OK2Ask workshops are hands-on learning experiences. During our 90-minute or 2-hour interactive
sessions, we'll explore practical technology integration strategies and give you the
opportunity for immediate practice and application.
Getting Started
How do I register?
You can register for our free workshops in three easy steps:
- Access the OK2Ask catalog to explore our upcoming sessions.
- Select a workshop, click Access Session, then create or log in to your
TrainerCentral account to register.
- Optional: Subscribe to
our email list to receive notifications about upcoming workshops.
I registered but I haven't received my confirmation email.
There are a couple of actions you can take to prevent emails from our registration
platform from ending up in your spam folder. If you used a personal email to register,
you can add our sender address, TeachersFirstPD@sflinc.org, to your address
book or
whitelist it with your email service provider. If you registered with a
school email, you
may need to reach out to your IT department to add this email address to your school's
list of approved senders.
Is there a cost?
No. These professional development workshops are completely free for educators.
Do I need to attend alone?
We encourage collaborative learning. While we recommend you log in to the session
individually, teachers are welcome to participate with colleagues.
Technical Considerations
What technology will I need?
To attend a live OK2Ask workshop, you'll need a laptop or desktop computer with high-speed
internet that has Chrome or Firefox installed. You can also download an app to
your mobile device (compatible with iOS 16.0 and Android 7.0 or later), but doing so may keep
you from fully participating and earning a certificate.
What if I'm not very tech-savvy?
Don't worry! We support teachers at every technology comfort level by:
- Opening the virtual classroom 10 minutes early.
- Providing platform orientation for first-time attendees.
- Offering on-demand sessions
for later review.
- Having moderators available during live sessions to assist with technical questions.
After the Workshop
Can I replay the workshop after I've attended?
Yes. Sessions are recorded and available in our archive for on-demand viewing.
Can I earn credit for viewing on-demand workshops?
Yes! Educators who view the on-demand recording, complete the feedback survey, and pass the
assessment will earn a certificate. Please note that the “we do, you do” portions of the
on-demand workshops are optional. To account for this time, our on-demand certificates award
slightly fewer PDUs. For example, educators can earn 1 PDU for completing all steps for a 1.5
hour on-demand session, or 1.5 PDUs for a 2-hour session.
Will I receive professional development credit?
We provide participation certificates for educators who complete all session checkpoints,
participate in interactive polls, and submit the post-workshop feedback survey.
Educators in Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Montana are pre-approved to
receive continuing education recognition for fully participating in live OK2Ask workshops. We
are a(n):
Educators in other states should consult their state and district's professional development
guidelines to determine whether they can receive credit for attending OK2Ask.
My state doesn't have a state-wide approved PD provider list. Can I use the PDUs I
earn from OK2Ask to renew my teaching license?
Yes, with administrator approval. If you teach in Indiana, Virginia,
Missouri, or another state where professional development is approved by a local
administrator, you may be eligible to receive relicensure credit for participating in OK2Ask.
You should always consult your local professional development guidelines to determine whether
you are eligible to receive credit.
Additional Information
Are international educators welcome?
