PBS LearningMedia's Construction Jobs collection offers a diverse selection of resources for grades K-12, including videos, audio recordings, documents, lesson plans, webpages, and curated collections. With thousands of materials available, students and teachers can explore topics such as project management, house and slope construction, heavy equipment operation, carpentry, and more. Lesson plans cover areas like profit estimation, design principles, solar racing, and dam building, each providing a summary, estimated time, learning objectives, preparation steps, procedures, and standards alignment. Resources can be filtered by grade level, subject area, type, media length, language, accessibility features, and more. All materials can be easily shared via Google Classroom, direct links, or social media, and members can customize and extend lessons as needed.

In the Classroom

Students can watch two videos on the same topic and compare and contrast them using Microsoft Whiteboard, reviewed here. Students can build a 3D model of a house, dam, building, bridge, etc. Finally, students can use Google Drawings, reviewed here to create sketches, blueprints, and models.
