In the Classroom
Include Gauth with your other math and science support resources for students. Demonstrate how to ask questions and analyze the responses as a learning tool. Be sure to discuss the ethical use of AI tools with students as a learning tool and not a substitute for completing assignments. Encourage students to provide proper attribution when using Gauth. Share Gauth as a flipped learning tool for students to use as they begin to understand new concepts, then ask students to apply that knowledge to problems without using AI resources. Share Sizzle with students to use as a homework aid at home, or work on problems together by sharing Sizzle on your whiteboard. Ask students to take screenshots on their device or use Awesome ScreenShot, reviewed here to share problems that they don't understand or had difficulty completing to discuss during class. Register for an account and take advantage of the history feature to share problems completed during previous activities to use as a reference for solving problems that incorporate similar concepts. Provide students with this tool and additional homework resources, such as 3minutemaths YouTube Channel, reviewed here and The Video Math Tutor, reviewed here to use for completing homework while encouraging students to document difficulties to discuss in class. Although originally designed for remote learning, all lessons can be easily adapted for in-class instruction. Easily find activities to differentiate instruction for different student ability levels by browsing options below or above the student's current grade level. Many lessons include worksheets in PDF format. Turn these activities into a digital format by taking a screenshot of the document, then save as the background on Google Slides, reviewed here. Add text boxes in the appropriate place on the slide for students to add responses. Create practice sheets for students on the fly as you assess understanding of concepts or review previously learned material. If parents ask for additional support for their students, create individual practice on the necessary skills. This site is a must-have for use in pre-algebra, algebra, and high school math classrooms! Science teachers will also find many uses for this interactive math board. Use Graspable Math to demo equations and formulas with students in several different ways. Share a link with students to use on their personal devices or classroom computers and allow them time to explore and experiment with the different options. This site includes many features that may take time to learn and understand. Start slowly with simple problems and take advantage of the video tutorials to become familiar with the many different uses. Display the concept map on an interactive whiteboard, or with a projector, and explore the complex interactions between math and science together. Math Antics is a resource that I can recommend without reservation to all 3 - 5th grade elementary school teachers. You can log on to their website and use their videos for free at mathantics.com.
