Students learn about Valledor's use of color, shape, and movement to create rhythm in his paintings, much like jazz musicians create rhythm in music. Teachers can use this resource to engage students in discussions about cross-cultural influences, abstract expressionism, and the role of music in visual art. Download the Teacher Packet to access five lessons correlated to Common Core Standards, each lesson is designed to take place over two fifty-minute class periods. Activities encourage creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression, making it a valuable addition to art and humanities lessons for upper elementary and secondary students. Pick Your Plate! A Global Guide to Nutrition is a fun and educational game that explores how to build healthy meals using nutrition guidelines from countries worldwide. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the game encourages global awareness and healthy eating habits. It is device agnostic and can be played on any device with a web browser or downloaded as an App from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. To extend learning, the site also offers a recipe book and a customizable meal template after completing the educational activities.
