Chapter Twenty-One - Health and Safety Role-Playing Activity

Harry awakens from his dream in this chapter to a very serious emergency. Although Harry's emergency is different from anything you might experience, knowing what to do in case of an emergency is very important. For this activity, work with a partner or friend. Pretend that one of you has fallen on the play ground and hurt themselves badly. Walk through what you would do in such an emergency situation at school. Would you find a teacher? Would you call the school nurse? When might you call an ambulance? Review emergency procedures with your class and teacher.

If you are at home, have a parent explain how you should handle an emergency situation, and take turns with your friend or partner walking through what you would do in case of an emergency.
