TeachersFirst AI for Differentiation

Differentiation is one of the most powerful — and time-consuming — parts of teaching. Every classroom includes a wide range of readers, learners, and language levels, and meeting each student where they are often means rewriting the same lesson multiple times before it ever reaches their desk. AI is changing that equation. Today’s tools can quickly level texts, generate tiered assignments, adapt directions, and add scaffolded supports, allowing teachers to create differentiated materials in minutes instead of hours. The impact on students is immediate: when content aligns with their reading level and learning needs, they can access grade-level concepts, build confidence, and stay engaged. What once took hours of after-school prep can now happen in just a few clicks, making differentiation not just an ideal, but an everyday reality. This collection is designed to help you do just that, with practical, ready-to-use strategies for differentiating content, pacing, and support for every learner.

Latimer is an artificial intelligence platform built around a large language model (LLM) designed with inclusivity, cultural diversity, and historical depth at its core. Unlike many mainstream AI tools, Latimer's training data intentionally includes voices, perspectives, and histories from underrepresented communities to produce responses that are more accurate, culturally fluent, and less biased. Use this resource much like other chatbot tools for idea generation, writing support, research assistance, and inquiry-based exploration. Latimer also offers APIs and partnerships (such as with Grammarly and organizations like Black Girls Code) to extend its use in classrooms and beyond, emphasizing inclusive engagement with technology. Free plans include 10 monthly responses.

Brisk Teaching is a versatile Chrome extension that transforms how you manage instructional tasks directly within your existing Google Docs, Slides, and web browser workflows. The AI assistant serves students in grades K-12 by instantly adapting the reading level of any online article or document to match your students' specific needs. In addition to supporting differentiation needs, the tool generates high-quality lesson plans, quizzes, rubrics, and presentations based on the content you are already viewing. The free version includes a variety of feedback modes, such as the "Glow and Grow" style, which helps you provide personalized and actionable comments on student work without leaving the document. It also features a writing inspection tool that provides a replay of a student's drafting process, offering transparency into their revision history and helping to ensure academic integrity.

Class Companion offers the power of AI (artificial intelligence) to provide assignments and feedback for written tasks. Import assignments using any of three methods - import a project from your device's documents using copy and paste, create a task from scratch, or use an assignment from Class Companion's library. Choose from the essay or short response format. Class Companion analyzes the text and allows teachers to customize options before assigning them to students; options include a selection of rubrics, questions about the piece, and the number of attempts students have to submit a correct response. Students access Class Companion by the provided link shared from your account. As students complete the activities, Class Companion provides feedback on their responses.
