During a lesson on the impact of the media and bias, have students select this newspaper and another to study from another country for such a thing. Using a venn digram, have students compare the audiences of both papers, as well as framing issues, bias, coverage, and popularity by numbers. Looking for stats on government agencies? Data.gov is the United States government's open data website. It allows for access to datasets published by agencies across the federal government. The goal of Data.gov is to provide the public with access to government open data, advance agency missions, drive innovation, fuel economic activity, and uphold the ideals of an open and transparent government. Use the search bar to search the database and get a list of links in numerical order based on popular searches. Links then allow you to have access to emails, licenses, and access levels.

These briefings address current international events, U.S. foreign policy, diplomatic initiatives, and responses to global issues, and also feature questions from journalists. Teachers can use this resource to help students analyze primary sources, evaluate government communication, explore current events, and better understand how diplomacy and foreign policy are communicated to the public.
