Guides contain innovative, student-driven projects that meet subject area standards while teaching students the foundations of AI and how it impacts our society. This research guide includes an extensive, downloadable document with in-depth projects and lesson plans to teach students about artificial intelligence. Separate guides are available for elementary, secondary, electives, computer science, and ethics and are available in multiple languages, including; English, Spanish, and Arabic. Read over the guide deciding which parts need to be shared with the class. Introduce the guide and the projects to students on an interactive whiteboard or with a projector through the part "activate prior knowledge." Then pair more computer savvy students with novice computer users or weak readers with stronger readers as needed. Next, the student-driven approach to the projects includes "Take a Closer Look" activities are scaffolded, guided learning activities that connect subject-area content and artificial intelligence concepts. "Culminating Performances" are meaningful performance tasks that challenge students to synthesize their learning and reflect on what they have learned. Once students have finished the first project, consider setting up computer stations for students to try out the different AI projects. Google Read Along is an entertaining, interactive website designed to help young children learn to read. This site is currently available in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, and Urdu. Though you can use Google Read Along on your computer, the best experience will be by using an Android device. Read Along engages young readers with a friendly character named Diya, who provides assistance and feedback when needed. Students receive immediate feedback by earning stars for each word they read correctly. In addition, Diya will help if children are stuck on a particular word. Gamification makes learning to read fun and engaging! Students earn stars and badges and can level up to more advanced books as they become increasingly better readers. Google Read Along also tracks how many minutes students spend actively reading. A Google account is required, and enable your microphone access for your browser.

Google Read Along would be a great addition to any preschool or early elementary classroom. Teachers who work with ENL students or adults learning to read may also find this site helpful. Students will gain confidence by practicing reading independently yet still get assistance if needed, all while the teacher can work with individual students or small groups. Use this Wordle generator in various ways in any classroom for increasing problem-solving and strategy skills. When using with young students, generate three or four-letter Wordles for students to attempt with partners. Provide a list of sight words if needed to avoid frustration. When teaching older students, develop Wordles to solve using vocabulary words, weekly spelling lists, science terms, or historical characters. Provide this site to students and create Wordles to share with their peers. Include a link on classroom computers during computer centers or as an activity when finished with daily assignments. Using this site is an excellent way to include ENL/ELL students in classroom activities by creating a word from their native language. Include others in your school community or parents by developing and sharing Wordles for your school or classroom site. Take advantage of the extensive library of videos found on the site, or upload your own videos from YouTube, Facebook, or your computer. After creating your account, add class information and student lists, then assign videos and add quizzes and other interactive content. Students access your assignment using the code created; as students complete each assignment, view responses and class averages to each question on your classroom dashboard. In addition to assigning content to individual students, FluentKey Live is an interactive game for classrooms. Share a video from the site on your interactive whiteboard and ask students to participate on their own devices.

Use FluentKey to easily differentiate world language lessons for students and allow them to progress at their own speed. Help ENL/ESL students master English using videos and quizzes based on their knowledge level. This is also an excellent tool for providing language learning experiences tailored to student interests. Even if the language isn't included with the videos on the site, find and upload videos for student use and add quizzes along with additional content. Use FluentKey to easily differentiate world language lessons for students and allow them to progress at their own speed. Help Annotate images using Google Drawings, reviewed here, create an audio recording of conversations, or use PhotoCollage, reviewed here, to create the collage. Before asking students to use this site independently, share it on your interactive whiteboard to show students how to avoid the advertising and how to select the proper links for playing the audio. Once students are familiar with how to get to the audio, share a link on classroom computers for ESL/ELL students to use when learning English. Ask students to practice using Vocaroo, reviewed here, an online audio recording tool. Use Vocaroo to enhance classroom technology and for students to practice speaking and hearing their work in English. As ESL/ELL students become more comfortable in their new language, ask them to create and share their own list of phrases with other students. Have them annotate an image using Image Annotator, reviewed here with their audio recordings sharing descriptions of people, places, or events. Use the leveled reading passages within Reading is Fundamental for multiple grade levels and books. Find additional support materials for each book, including author interviews, lesson plans, crosswords, and word searches all as downloadable PDFs. Though Beeline Reader is not usually a free tool, Literacy Central is providing it to its members for free through these PDFs. You do not need to create a free membership to use these materials, only to save them as a favorite. In addition to web search features, use this site to find popular images, videos, and games for kids. Other features include quick links to calculators, translation tools, and homework helper sites.

Consider making Kid's Search your homepage on classroom computers, or add this site as an easy to find bookmark for students to use. Share this site with students on your interactive whiteboard to demonstrate the different features and how to use them. For younger students, consider creating how-to videos using Free Screen Recorder Online, reviewed here, to demonstrate how to access different portions of the site. Be sure to share this site with parents to use at home; include a short demonstration during Open House or Meet the Teacher events to share the available features. Are you stuck trying to write a poem? These generators will help you through the process. Choose from a variety of different formats including haiku, limerick, and acrostic to begin. Once started, fill in the provided blanks to add names and other information then view your completed poem. Copy the poem as created, edit to your liking, or choose the regenerate option to generate a new creation. New to this tool are several Artificial Intelligence (AI) poetry generators. Enter a word or phrase and the AI Generator will create a poem for you. Make sure your students know to attribute the AI Generated poem. There are programs out there to detect AI created writing, see GPTZero, reviewed here.

ERDPlus is a free and simple diagram maker that includes options for creating several different types of schema models. Create your diagrams with or without free signup. Free accounts offer you the ability to save documents onsite and options to easily share documents with others. Once you begin using the diagram maker, use the dashboard to choose the style of diagram to create or import a document from your computer. Use the tools to add information, connect items, and move information around to suit your needs. When finished, save to your account or your computer.

Use ERDPlus to create classroom models and diagrams for any subject. Before assigning to all students, choose a few tech-savvy students to learn how to use this site and provide tutoring help for those who need it. Consider having a few students create a video explanation using Typito, reviewed here, using the provided templates. Create diagrams for students to "map" out a chapter or story. Assign groups to create study guides using this tool. Use this tool for literature activities, research projects, social studies, or science topics. Visit Radiooooo and start listening immediately (no registration required) or download the iOS or Android app. Just select a country (all countries in yellow have music), decade, and mood (from tabs at the bottom) the music will begin. Create a thematice playlist from different countries and decades using "Islands Mode. Create an account to save your favorites, or upload your own favorite music. There are different subscription programs for a cost. This review is for the free version.

In the Classroom
Social studies teachers will have a heyday with this program! Complement any period in time with its music. Use music from the site as an anticipatory set or "activator" to introduce a unit or lesson on a projector or interactive whiteboard. Play music from the period you are studying during reading or research time. Use during current events for students to hear the music and language of the country of the article. Allow students to explore the site on their own, and then share their findings with classmates. Ask students to exchange paper journals and write about their impressions of the music and make comparisons to their favorites of today using a blog tool like Telegra.ph, reviewed here. With Telegra.ph you just click on an icon to upload images from your computer, add a YouTube, or Vimeo links. This blog creator requires no registration. Redefine classroom technology use by challenging students create multimedia timelines (with music, photos, videos, and more) using Timeline JS, reviewed here. Any teacher will appreciate Radiooooo. Play music selections quietly during any subject and student work time. Filter distractions by finding instrumentals to play during silent reading time, test taking, lab activities, or any other quiet time during class. World language teachers can use this tool to introduce music from all the countries whose population speak the language they teach. This tool would also be perfect for performance groups such as drama clubs or musicals that need background music.
