The If/Then Collection is a free resource for finding and sharing images and videos of women related to STEM topics. Search the collection by media type, discipline, location, or ambassador name. Another option is to browse through the featured categories found on the home page, including topics such as sports, explorers, and hero videos. Then, share items by selecting the share icon located on each thumbnail image. The required prompt asks you to complete a short form before sharing. The form includes the user's email, the purpose for using the content, and the checkbox agreeing to proper use. Although items on the site are available for free use without crediting the photographer or videographer, proper credit is always encouraged when possible.

Audio style options include casual, formal, guided, and free-form; descriptions for each style are included as you select a style. The Image Annotator requires a password when finished, this allows you the option to return and edit your photo. In the Classroom
Since the images can be kept private, this would make the perfect "getting to know you" activity for beginning of the school year. Have students upload a picture of themselves doing their favorite activity and label it with witty text or a favorite quote (or song lyric?). Have them upload images that represent their interests and character traits. Print the images with text for a back to school bulletin board. Alternatively, make a slide show to play as the parents enter the room. Use a tool like Canva Docs, reviewed here. At the end of the year, students could do a "that was then, this is now" project. Have them upload a current picture doing a favorite activity, and different images that represent new interests they have learned this year. Post the images side by side for spring open house night or as a year-end activity. To find Creative Commons images for student projects (with credit, of course), try Vecteezy, reviewed here. For other uses, have students practice new words in a world language class by labeling and identifying images in that language. Create writing prompts using several annotated images. Have students create annotated images to explain key terms in science class. In ELA class, make homophone or vocabulary images to show the correct word along with an image that explains it.Edge Features:

Use this tool to correctly use and properly credit images from Flickr Creative Commons on any webpage or wiki. Search for images using Flickr Creative Commons reviewed here or from the handy link provided on ImageCodr. Enter the URL for the picture page from Flickr, and ImageCodr will generate a block of HTML code for you to include on your web page or other online project. This code will make both the image AND the appropriate credit display. A brief licensing summary shows as a caption when you use the embed code. Note that this tool does not work for including images and credits in offline projects such as PowerPoint slides. It will work in any online tool that allows embed codes!

Click the upload button or enter the URL of the image from the Internet (obtainable by right clicking the online image and selecting "properties" or "Get info"). No need to register for an account. Uploaded images are private and only the person who uploaded has the URL of the image. Use the simple editing options to be sure the image fits in the blog, wiki, or site you are using it on. File upload is limited to 2 MB. Use a direct link or embed code to share your uploaded image wherever you need. Use caution when sharing this site with students. Content is not filtered and may contain inappropriate language.

Use in the classroom to quickly upload and share images. Create albums where individual photos can be titled or captioned. Have students categorize photos and describe them. Use for any project, class explanation of concepts, experiments, or demonstrations. Share pictures of class happenings, speakers, field trips, and other opportunities you would want to share.Users must be able to find a suitable image for upload from their computer or the Internet. Follow the very simple directions to manipulate the image. Since no registration is necessary, Imgur is easy and safe to use. Be aware that relying on services such as these can be a problem if the site no longer exists in the future. Be sure that students understand rules for sharing appropriate and inappropriate images and copyright concerns.

Immersive Reader is a free Microsoft Learning Tool available for use with several Microsoft products including OneNote, Word, Outlook, and Edge. Immersive Reader dictates text and offers several options for personalization. Use the options to adjust the playback speed, highlight text during the audio reading, and adjust text size and spacing. Click on any word in your reading material to listen to the pronunciation. Additional options allow you to view words divided into syllables, use labels to color-code words by parts of speech, and increase the spacing between lines and letters. Use the line focus feature to highlight only small portions of text. Turn on the dictionary option to select words and view drawings representing the meanings. This tool is a wonderful resource for your special needs students and struggling readers!

Each day, post a new impulse challenge inspired by tasks often found on TPT (wait your turn patiently, follow directions the first time, use kind words when frustrated). The Formative Independence Day Activities page provides a collection of ready-to-use, interactive digital lessons that help students explore the history and significance of Independence Day. Teachers can access activities focused on the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, patriotic symbols, and civic understanding, all while using Formative's built-in tools for real-time assessment and feedback. Many lessons include a mix of multiple-choice, short-answer, drawing, and interactive response questions, making it easy to check for understanding during whole-class instruction, independent practice, or homework. The activities can be assigned directly to students, allowing teachers to monitor progress and adjust instruction based on student responses.

Looking for a one-stop collection of Independence Day learning activities? This Texas Home Educators guide brings together a wide variety of ready-to-use resources for students in grades K-12, including lesson plans, crafts, games, printable activities, primary source investigations, and historical explorations. Organized by grade level, each recommendation includes a brief description, grade range, cost information, and practical teaching tips, making it easy for educators to find age-appropriate activities with minimal preparation. While created with homeschool families in mind, the curated collection also offers classroom teachers plenty of engaging ideas for celebrating Independence Day across history, literacy, art, and civics.

In the Classroom
Create a choice board using several of the featured resources. Students can choose activities such as completing a patriotic craft, exploring a primary source, solving a history puzzle, reading an informational article, or creating a flag-themed art project to demonstrate their learning. Set up classroom stations featuring different Independence Day topics, including the Declaration of Independence, patriotic symbols, the American Revolution, and Fourth of July traditions. Have students rotate through the stations, completing short activities and recording new facts at each stop. Patriotic STEM and Art Challenge. Invite students to reflect on what freedom means to their family. They can interview a family member, write a personal reflection, or create a digital poster with Adobe Express for Education,reviewed here connecting their family's traditions with the values celebrated on Independence Day.

Facing History & Ourselves Indigenous Rights and Controversy over Hawaii's Maunakea Telescope offers a free lesson on why the Native Hawaiians opposed its construction. The lesson gives a historical context for understanding the protests against constructing the Thirty Meter Telescope on Maunakea. The site includes two activities, a handout, articles, and videos. The lesson itself is adaptable and can be shared on Google Classroom.

IndyKids is an online newspaper for kids. This online version is the same as the printable version that produces 10,000 copies of each issue, reaching kids in 36 states of the US. Articles are written by both kids and adults, featuring topics related to current events and topics of interest to kids. Articles written by kids are noted as such and include the writer's age. At the time of this review, some of the "kid written articles" included Growing Poverty: Hard to Ignore At Home, Wasps: Do I Know You, and several others. Be sure to check out the category search on the lower right-hand portion of the site with topics such as: Kids Around the World, Culture and Activism, Education, and much more. Newspapers are archived in PDF format for easy printing and dated back several years.

In the Classroom
Share this site with students and have students choose an article to read, summarize, or expand upon. After reading articles on the site, have students choose a current topic that interests them and have them write an article as practice of informational writing. In science or social studies, study the newspaper format as students write articles reporting on scientific discoveries or famous people. Use the format of this newsletter as a resource for extending learning and creating and publishing your own classroom newsletter online. During newspapers in education month, use this site to find accessible articles for any age. Create a newspaper using a site such as Printing Press.
