Mixboard is an experimental tool from Google Labs that lets you create presentations with AI-generated images and design elements. Begin by selecting the "Get Started" button to start a new project. View some examples on the new board, or begin creating by entering what you want to make in the message box, or by adding images or documents. Edit your board by adding photos or documents, resizing images, adding text, or organizing content. When complete, use the share button to create a shareable URL. Mixboard can also transform the content into a presentation; hover your mouse over the transform button at the top-right of your board to see how many files you need to upload before you can generate a presentation. When the indicator says "Ready," you're good to go. Customize your presentation using the provided choices, including format, story, and appearance. Presentations may take up to twenty minutes to create.

Mootion takes your script of up to 2500 characters and creates a storyboard with images for each paragraph or section of the story. When using a prompt, type in an idea, and Mootion generates a corresponding story. Options include choices of several output languages, style options, and video ratios corresponding to social media options. After adding a prompt or story and making customization choices, click generate to begin the video creation process. You will need to create a free account with Google, Discord, or your email. Each video uses 20 credits; free members receive 200 monthly credits. After generating the video, choose options to regenerate, add assets (your images), animate transitions, or download the video.

In the Classroom
Begin class with a short breathing or grounding exercise inspired by the podcast. Have students close their eyes, listen to their breath, and focus on one calming word or phrase. Have students complete a quick "How am I arriving today?" slip. They can choose a word that describes their mood and jot down one strategy they might use to stay focused or calm during class. After listening to an episode, have students create a card explaining the featured strategy, when to use it, and how it helps the brain. Mote is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to add voice notes to Google Documents, Google Classroom, Google Slides, Google Forms, and Sheets. It also supports transcription in over twenty languages. Begin by downloading Mote from the Chrome Store and allowing it to install on your browser. Once installed, click the Mote icon when in Google documents to record up to one minute using the free version. Students use the play button to listen to recordings within their document or view the text within a card created by Mote as a comment. Use your account activity page to monitor student engagement and see which students listened to or viewed your notes. Students also have the option to provide reactions to your messages. If students don't have the Mote extension, they receive a link to the Mote website to listen to the audio recording. This is a terrific resource to help your struggling writers and special needs students.

In the Classroom
Use Mote to make feedback more personal for students and hear voice intonation instead of just written text. Use this extension to share positive feedback on student work and point out specific areas of improvement. Share Mote with your peers to use when collaborating on any document as a replacement for written comments. Mote is an excellent way to provide missing in-person connections with students during remote learning by allowing them to hear your voice instead of viewing impersonal comments.
