Color Vision - How Does it Work?
Grades
6 to 12In the Classroom
The text portions may be challenging, so you should pair weaker readers with a partner as they read. Have students take notes on the material and write down questions they still have and topics that confuse them. They can do this with pen and paper or online. If you want the assignment online, explain to students they need to open a new tab in their browser window and take notes with a tool such as Webnote, reviewed here; tell students to be sure to save the URL to share their notes and questions with you and their peers. At the bottom of the page there are several topics labeled Read More About Seeing Color. Divide students into small groups to research and take notes for one or more of the topics. Then ask students to share what they learned by creating a simple infographic sharing their knowledge about seeing color using Visme, reviewed here. You must be registered and logged in to add items to your favorites.
