Boom Cards is a resource for creating and curating interactive, self-checking lessons. Create a free account to begin making and assigning content from the site. A free account offers you the ability to include one classroom with five students and five self-made decks. Also, Boom Cards offers many free pre-made decks for use. Browse to find decks by grade level and content, then save items to your library or "purchase" for zero points. Once decks are added to your library, use the actions dropdown box to assign to students or use the fast pin option for students to play without logging in to an account. Be sure to watch the tutorials on the site to take advantage of the different features available in Boom Cards.

Although the free version of Boom Cards limits you to five students, it is a viable resource for differentiating instruction for students and using it in small group settings. Browse through the many free decks available to include in your library to use for review with students who need remediation in any topic or share a more advanced deck with students looking to engage in specific topics or advanced information. Enhance student learning by including Boom Cards activities within personalized lessons created using Curipod, reviewed here. Use Curipod to build a complete series of lesson activities for the class. Whiteboard.fi is a temporary whiteboard tool created specifically for educators and for classroom use. Free accounts offer you the ability to create and use a whiteboard and the accompanying tools without registration. Temporary rooms are deleted following two hours of inactivity. Choose the option to start a new class and follow the steps to begin a session. Options allow you to create a waiting room where students have to be allowed into the whiteboard area and include a save mode that adapts for participants with limited internet strength. Once the room is created, share the URL or QR Code with students. The whiteboard tools include text, drawing, images, and more. When finished, use the included options to save your whiteboard as an image file or PDF document.

Use Whiteboard.fi to collaborate with students to share and organize information instantly. Use the whiteboard as a brainstorming or sketching space as groups (or the class) share ideas for a major project or solve a real-world problem. This distance learning lesson uses four oral history videos of persons that lived through incarceration camps to teach the story of discrimination toward Japanese Americans during WWII. The content is correlated to Common Core Standards and California Content Area Connections. A set of discussion questions accompanies each of the videos in the first portion of the lesson. During the second activity, students dig deeper into the symbolism and feelings evoked from watching the videos. The California Museum also provides a playlist of videos to accompany these activities, learn more about them here. The videos are hosted on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, then they may not be viewable.

Use the videos and lesson activities included on this site as part of any unit on discrimination, WWII, and American History. Provide a set of clues and use their responses to gauge prior understanding. Joystock is an excellent resource to bookmark for use in a variety of classroom projects. Share with students to use when creating podcasts, videos, or any multimedia project. Choose a calming tune to play as students enter your classroom or a more lively selection to get students inspired to begin their day. Use music from Joystock when creating videos with online tools such as Kapwing, reviewed here. For example, use the Travel Promo template found in Kapwing to create a short video tour of a location studied during geography class. Undraw is an open-source resource for image designs to use with any application. Choose from a huge library of images available in PNG and SVG formats. Use the color generator to customize and change the image color to fit your needs. Although only a portion of each image changes color, the effect is significant and very helpful for various needs. Take advantage of the search feature to browse through the many available images that match your criteria. After selecting an image and color, click to open the picture and choose from options to download to your computer as an SVG or PNG file.
In the Classroom
Be sure to bookmark this resource for images for a variety of classroom uses. Include images from this site in your class newsletter or website. Select interesting images to use for creative writing prompts. Change the color in an image and ask students to compare the two images and reflect upon how the use of color changes an item's mood or tone. Enter your email and download the versatile library of items, including mix and match characters and various objects to use when creating scenes. After selecting to download the images, all files are saved to your computer in a zip folder, open the folder to access all of the shared items. All images are in PSD format for use with Photoshop. Use Photoshop tools to edit all features of images, including text, color, layers, and more.

Previous experience with layer-based design software editing such as Photoshop is extremely beneficial.Include this library of objects for students to use with any digital projects. If you or your students, don't use PhotoShop, edit images using Photopea, reviewed here, then save in PNG or SVG format. Bookmark Twinkl for use throughout the year to find teaching resources for holidays, content topics, and homework ideas. Take advantage of Twinkl Create to easily make and differentiate charts, banners, word mats, and other classroom use printables. When saving favorite materials found on the site, set the popup reminder to remind you to use it later in the year. For example, when you find the End of Year packet, save it to your account and set a reminder for late spring so that it can be included with other items to include when wrapping up the school year or sending home materials for practice over the summer. Twinkl includes free teaching packets by grade level; these packets include activities customized for different ability levels. Use items from teaching packets as part of your center activities or send them home for additional practice as needed. Engage students in content review by creating and sharing quizzes to use in learning centers or at home. Ask students to create their own quizzes to share with peers. This demonstration is especially important so that users know how to avoid ads and use the correct links to creating and playing games (hint: look for the links with the gray highlighted background). ClickUp is a task organizing tool that offers the option to integrate information easily from other productivity applications and to collaborate with others. After creating an account, follow the prompts to create lists, folders, and tasks. Create task lists for projects and use labels to prioritize jobs, import a calendar, add and assign items to collaborators, and much more. Learn more about using and organizing ClickUp by viewing the On-Demand Demo videos found in the Learn tab. Free accounts include up to 100MB storage with unlimited tasks and users.

Use ClickUp to organize your professional life and share it with students to manage their academic and personal needs. Any student would appreciate having an online time management account, but learning support students and disorganized gifted students need one. You may want to model using this online tool to help middle and high school students learn personal organization. This site is particularly helpful for students who dislike writing or have difficulty expanding on their thoughts. Help students explore and expand word choice options by sharing the Big Huge Thesaurus, reviewed here. After completing their six-word memoirs, ask students to use Canva Edu, reviewed here, to enhance learning by creating posters that further share their thoughts and reflections.

ziplet is a free student response system that works on all devices. Use ziplet to send questions to students instantly or schedule them in advance. After registration, follow the steps to create a group, invite students, and ask questions. Choose from different options for student responses, including multiple-choice, short answer, emoji reactions, or a scaled score from 1-7. Invite students into your group using the provided code. Students use their Google account to login and access questions. Upon receiving responses, Loop provides options for responding to students. Free accounts allow two teachers to use the application with three groups and 50 students per group.
