Magic ToDo uses artificial intelligence (AI) to break down tasks into a list of step-by-step directions to complete the job. Enter your prompt or activity into the chat box to begin, then use the pepper icons to select the specificity of directions. One pepper provides an essential list; five peppers offer the most detailed steps. Press enter after adding your prompt and choosing the level of directions to provide to view your results. Open the list by clicking the blue wand next to your prompt; hovering over the blue wand will show "break down the item." After viewing the list, use drag and drop features to change the order of steps in the list if desired, or choose the blue wand next to any item on the list to create additional steps. Other options in a dropbox next to each step of the directions include determining the approximate time to complete that step, editing the information, or deleting the step. Click the checkbox in each step as it is completed for a visual look at the progress in completing the task.

Use Magic ToDo as a professional tool for creating to-do lists to complete upcoming tasks, such as preparation for parent-teacher conferences, writing long-term lesson plans, preparing for substitutes, and more. Share Magic To-Do with students to create a guide for planning on completing long-term projects. Show students how to use the estimated time feature to help them understand the time required to complete all project steps. To help students stay on track, ask them to create a to-do list for their upcoming project, take a screenshot of their list, and share it with you. Then, ask for weekly screenshots that show each student's progress in completing the project and ask them to use the checkboxes to mark completed items. If students fall behind, have short conferences to determine what is holding them back and provide support as needed. This tool is also helpful for students with special needs or attention disorders to use as a guide for completing required tasks.

Play Read-O to earn a free book by completing a Bingo card and emailing a picture of the five in a row Bingo completion to Bookopolis. Take the summer reading challenge to read ten books or 10,000 pages to earn a badge and a free book. Second through eighth graders can join virtual book clubs that meet by Zoom over the summer. The book clubs are divided into two grade levels: second through fourth grade and fourth through eighth grade. In addition to the summer activities, check out the suggested book lists available for all grade levels.

Include information and links to Bookopolis Summer Reading Activities in your end-of-year newsletter to parents. Encourage students to participate in the activities by sharing and discussing the information before the school year ends. In the Classroom

Demonstrate to younger students how to log in and access their Wriddle accounts. Be sure to print out QR codes and access information and send a copy home for students to use at any time. Then, ask students to create a Wriddle to share ideas on a story character, discuss the setting in a book you read, or draw an item that matches a letter of the alphabet. Take advantage of the microphone option in Wriddle to differentiate using this tool for students who find it easier to share their thoughts by speaking instead of writing. Encourage these students to attempt writing in addition to using the microphone. Share students' Wriddle drawings with parents during conferences to demonstrate and discuss their literacy development. If you use a portfolio tool like Seesaw, reviewed here, upload students' drawing and writing projects to document growth over the school year.

gotLearning is a platform for students and teachers to discuss and share student learning and educational goals. Upload documents, add videos, or scan items to begin the collaborative process. Documents open up inside a learning conversation that offers several options for creating ongoing discussions and feedback between teachers and students. Students use the app to scan and upload work to the platform. Use the educator dashboard to share and monitor assignments and to differentiate work that fits the needs of students easily. The free option for the school year 2022-2023 includes adding up to eight classes and 150 students within an account and integrates easily with Google Classroom.

Find templates in many different ways, use a keyword search, sort by color, choose from recent and popular downloads, or select categories, including education templates. After selecting a template, click on the link to the version for your download. When choosing a Google Slideshow, Slidego prompts you to copy the document into your Google Drive. Powerpoint slides download to your device. Another option allows you to share a template directly to Google Classroom. PDF Redactor is a downloadable program for Windows that allows users to redact (black out) and remove content from PDF documents. Follow the link to download and install the application on your device. Once installed, select open and choose the file to modify. Use the redact tool, then select and drag a box across the text or information to edit. Follow the same procedure using the delete tool to remove content from your document. Other options allow you to add text and images to the PDF and change the default color of redacted text boxes from black to a new color of your choice.

Use the PDF Redactor to remove identifying information such as names, emails, or student id numbers from shared documents. For example, when sharing exemplars of work with students or during parent/teacher conferences, use the redactor to remove names from the work examples. If using Word documents, use a file conversion tool such as PDF Mixer, < a href="/single.cfm?id=19384">reviewed here, to convert the document to a PDF file to use with the PDF Redactor.

Host virtual meetings with up to thirty participants with Kumospace. The free plan includes all of the site's core features, including unlimited floors and virtual apps. Other features include the ability to screen share, chat with individuals or the entire group, and customize your workspace. After creating an account, start your meeting by selecting the "Create a Space" button. Next, give your space a name, customize the end of the URL to be shared, and choose an option for your area. Then, share the link to invite others to your virtual meeting. Finally, choose from templates to change the background of your space, add floors, and edit privacy settings for your session and each floor. Privacy options include requiring a password for different floors or setting the floor availability only for use by co-hosts. Create a customized avatar by scrolling down the page and selecting any easy-to-use template provided on Adobe Express. Each template includes options to choose from and select facial features to make a one-of-a-kind avatar. In addition, the templates offer several looks that serve as the starting point for the avatar. To begin, choose a template and login into your Adobe account. Next, drag and drop features onto the face outline to create your desired look. Additional options allow avatar creators to change the background, add text, icons, and more to personalize the slide. When finished, select the download link to save to your device as a JPEG, PNG, or PDF file.

Include this site in many classroom activities in many different learning activities. For example, ask students to design an avatar for a character in a book they are reading and add text about their character. Create avatars for famous people in history to summarize their stories. Ask students to create avatars to use for reports and blog posts. For example, when using edublogs, reviewed here, ask students to add their avatar image to their blog post as a replacement for a picture. Ask students to create avatars for parent/teacher conferences. When conferencing with the parent, share their student's avatar on the interactive whiteboard or within your remote conferencing app. Ask the student to include text that tells about their educational progress. Use avatars as part of social-emotional learning lessons to share their emotions using the characters and features found within the avatar templates.

Spaces is a portfolio-creation tool that provides assessment opportunities and demonstrates student progress through three different types of Spaces. First, create a Class Space to share files and media and promote discussion for the whole class. Second, Group Spaces offer the ability to connect with groups designed from within the Class Space. This Reading Trek provides inspiration and suggestions for using the trade book Buffalo Dance The Journey of York. Get to know York, the only enslaved man on the Lewis and Clark expedition, through these poems that provide insight into how and what York may have felt and thought. In the Classroom

Enjoy these free, high-quality STEM units to use in your elementary classroom. As you teach lessons found on this site, enhance learning using a portfolio-creation tool like Seesaw, reviewed here, to share student work and reflections. Upload images of student projects then use Seesaw to add video reflections, students' written responses, and more. Share Seesaw portfolios with parents during parent/teacher conferences to demonstrate student learning. Using this site without registration allows you to participate in one-on-one meetings, register to invite up to four participants.

In the Classroom

Use Collabify to set up virtual parent/teacher conferences with participants located anywhere in the world. Collabify is especially useful when multiple teachers are involved or when parents may not reside in the same location. Share your screen as needed to provide information on assessments and student work.

Have your students set up collaborative groups for projects, lab data, and more. Anything students can do on a single computer; they can do collaboratively on this tool, accessing their work from any online computer. Be sure to test out this tool before using with your class. It may be a good idea to set up the groups with the teacher as a "member" but have students work from home for group projects. Make sure you are protecting the safety of student work and identity and are within your school's Acceptable Use Policy.

Do you need a quick and easy way to create forms, quizzes, and polls? Microsoft Forms has you covered. Create surveys and collect data in real-time, assign quizzes with your point values for automatic grading, and create polls on the fly to receive responses for immediate use quickly. Sign in to your Microsoft account to begin (or make a free account) and select either a new form or quiz. Click on the plus mark and follow the prompts to add new items. Add an image to any form part using the search bar or upload your own. Forms also offer the option to add a YouTube video within questions. A recent addition to this tool includes an option for practice mode, which allows students to take quizzes and receive feedback on correctness without submitting data to the teacher. Forms works on all devices, use the preview to see your form as it appears on computers or mobile devices before sending. Share your form using the URL or QR code, or embed it in a website or email. View responses through the response tab created with your form. Return to previous forms to review the collected data or duplicate forms to make new polls or surveys.

In the Classroom

Bookmark (or save in your favorites) The Time Now on your classroom computers for students to use throughout the year. Find out the local time and temperature in countries as you study them and compare their local time to yours. Include time/date conversions for online conferences you will hold with parents who are deployed or traveling in different time zones. Share meeting dates/times for virtual sessions using the time conversions, so everyone is "on time." Find a partner classroom located in a different time zone - try finding one at Global Virtual Classroom, reviewed here, and use The Time Now to compare local times throughout the day. Then create a collaborative class book with your partner class to contrast and compare what is happening in one area of the world compared to your partner. Use a tool like Book Creator, reviewed here, to create collaborative books including images, videos, and audio recordings.
