This online game, specifically designed for blind or visually impaired children, was developed by PBS in consultation with the National Center for Accessible Media. It's a challenging memory activity that asks students to safely lead D.W. through a dark room to get a glass of water without stepping on a toy and waking baby Kate. To accomplish this, students must listen carefully to verbal descriptions that reveal the exact placement of each toy. Make sure that students select the "audio" option before beginning the activity. Headphones required.

Use this site as an introduction to the avian flu during the seemingly always present flu-season. Have students explore the site in cooperative learning group with the intentions of finding three things that they can do to prevent themselves from getting the flu, or what the government is doing to prevent a spread. Have all students use Wordnik, reviewed here, to hear the word pronounced and to read the different definitions. Enhance student learning by having them make a Padlet, reviewed here, to list the words and write the diffent definitions. Then, students can discuss which definition is correct for their use; older students can discuss how the two definitions are similar.
