Teachers can introduce the Cornell University Library guide at the start of a research unit as a foundational lesson in source evaluation, walking students through the key criteria together before sending them off to find and assess their own sources -- turning it into a practical checklist that students refer back to throughout the entire research process. The guide works especially well as a reference tool during peer-review activities, where students use the evaluation criteria to assess not only their own sources but also those chosen by classmates, sparking meaningful conversations about credibility, bias, and the difference between reliable and unreliable information.
