The Vitalentum Free ChatGPT website offers a free, easy way to use an AI chatbot similar to ChatGPT. It allows students and teachers to ask questions, get help with writing, translate languages, and generate ideas for stories or projects. The site also features tools for creating pictures using AI. There's no need to sign in, and it's available in many languages. Teachers can use it to support older students with writing, brainstorming, or creating visuals for assignments -- all in a safe, simple online space.

Have students use the AI image generator on the site to create a picture (e.g., a fantasy scene or historical setting), then write a descriptive paragraph, story, or poem inspired by it. Students choose a debate topic and ask the chatbot for arguments on both sides. They can use these as a starting point to build their own positions and practice persuasive speaking or writing. Vizzlo is a free chart maker site offering a wide variety of options for sharing data in different formats. Get inspired by visiting the gallery to view examples of the layouts and means for sharing data. To begin creating, sign in to your account and select "Create." If you know the type of chart you want, use the keyword search to find it. Next, browse through the page to see examples, or use the filters to find options by use, type, and alphabetical list. The possibilities include well-known charts, including timeline creators and pie charts, along with less familiar varieties such as puzzle charts. Select a chart to begin creating by using the features found on the dashboard. Personalize data, colors, and the page setup. When complete, download as a PNG image, share a link by email or embed the code into a website. Free plans offer many features and access to a wide variety of charts; however, all charts created using a free plan will include Vizzlo's dominant watermark on the image.

Bookmark this site to share data through many different formats and representations. Collect data in your classroom and quickly create a graph to represent it, then choose another design to share the data in another way. Share your charts by adding links or uploading images to blogs, wikis, or websites--share graphs on an interactive whiteboard or projector for better data analysis by the class. Graph results of a test, answers from students, favorite foods, fictitious budgets, class schedules, and anything applicable in your classroom. Use an informational text, and have students create a pie chart to understand how to read charts accompanying the nonfiction texts. Record a message and embed it into your favorite site or provide a link to share, for free. Send to a friend by entering your email and the email of the recipient. Share on many social media sites with the press of a button. Recording the message is easy, and embedding it into a site such as a wiki or blog has never been simpler! No login or registration is needed. If you choose to send a message via email, you must set a password for the site. Vocaroos are stored on their server. Created messages can also be downloaded to individual computers. Visit their FAQs for common questions and answers.

You need to be able to navigate the website controls and adjust the sound levels on your computer. Copy/pasting embed codes is also a necessary skill for insertion into a website. Email the sound clip very easily.Future savings of Vocaroos are uncertain, depending upon server space. Before using it with students, you may wish to obtain permission from administration and/or parents. Be sure to check your school's acceptable use policy. Students should be made aware of acceptable use and the consequences of misuse of the service.
Vocaroo has a wide variety of applications in any type of classroom! For basic technology integration, extend and enhance learning with this tool. Record snippets of information as reminders on your class website or instructions for students to follow. This is terrific for students receiving learning support or non-readers! Have students describe aspects of their classroom learning experiences to share with others, such as what they learned from a science experiment or discovered about life in Colonial America. Record a quick message for an absentee and email the link to him/her explaining how to catch up on missing work. Create tutorial pieces that students can use as study aids (or have them create them for each other). Use this site in world language classes or for ELL students: have students record and listen to their own pronunciation or send short messages to each other to translate. Have students use this site to practice speeches before the presentation to hear their speed, tone, and words. Use this site for research presentations, substitute instructions, or many other uses. With younger students, read a short story on Vocaroo and have them follow along with a picture book. Or have the students read their own stories into Vocaroo and email the readings to their parents! For Mother's Day, why not have students record messages for mom or grandma? Another idea: create a class wiki where parents can "find" the entire selection of Vocaroos for Mother's Day (or another holiday). Record Vocaroos of each student talking about the importance of Moms for Mother's Day or how grateful they are for certain things at Thanksgiving. Embed them all in a class wiki to share with parents. Just email the URL for the collection.

In the Classroom
Access to a microphone is required to record a voice. There is an option to use text-to-speech (however, it does not have great sound) import audio from a file or use a cell phone instead to capture audio. Only one minute of audio can be recorded, so be brief. Students need to carefully think about their narrative before recording. Users must be able to copy and paste HTML code for use in an external site.Use the controls to create your character's style, click customization to further refine your character, change your background, and add your voice. Keep in mind that animated backgrounds may take longer to load on your site. When done, click publish to view and copy the embed code, which can then be used on a blog, wiki, or web page.
Monitor all aspects of student production and use for appropriateness and copyright. If concerned about using student email, consider creating a class account for students. Be sure students understand not to change other students' Vokis when using a class account. Check your school district's policy about using emails or identifying student information on the Internet.
Introduce and share this site on your interactive whiteboard or projector. Use this free site to record a greeting for students that appears on the start page of your blog, wiki, or website. Record online assignment information that is spoken by the Voki (always more pleasing to look at than the teacher!). Use this to share homework assignments, a message from you (via a substitute), and more. Use a character that is interesting or matches the assignment you may be leaving. Use Voki to record two different opinions or viewpoints and create a poll of students to view reactions. Use the Voki in Math to pose possible solutions to problems and create a class discussion or poll to determine which is the correct answer. As students work on projects, create a Voki that provides hints and tips. Allow students to use Voki to provide peer assessments. Consider using Voki in place of other assignments, such as "What I did this summer vacation..." or "Here is information about me..." Use in any language class to record narratives or translations. Students can create a variety of Voki recordings over time to show their language learning. Create classroom newscasts using student(s) on a rotating basis. Use Voki for vocabulary exercises, which can be created by students or the teacher. The possibilities for this tool are endless. The quick and engaging nature of this tool offers unlimited uses.

With over 5 million dollars granted, Voya Unsung Heroes has supported teachers through grants provided by its Unsung Heroes Program. Each year grants are provided to K-12 educators utilizing new teaching techniques and methods that improve learning. Applications are judged on three criteria: innovative method, creativity, and ability to positively influence students. 100 Finalists are chosen yearly to receive $2,000 grants with at least one award going to each of the 50 states. Three top awards of $25,000, $10,000 and $5,000 are given to the top three recipients. Follow links provided on the site to apply for the grant. The deadline is generally the end of April each year.

What is Watch Know Learn? Short for "You Watch, You Know, You Learn" it provides explanations for students. Finding bits of information to help students can be frustrating as resources are disorganized on the web and may be hard to find." Watch Know Learn" is a free site that organizes small video clips to help with the understanding of a variety of topics in subject areas. Search by age (3-18+). You can click and drag the age filter to the youngest and oldest ages to include. Videos are also organized by sequence of topics taught. The site is an ongoing project with input from educators and organizations interested in education of children. Registration is not required to view the videos. Creating and saving videos to the site, as well as commenting, require registration. You can monitor site recent changes and additions using the "Change Log."

In the Classroom
Search for videos relevant to your upcoming units or share the link with older students to search on their own. Use clips as engaging openings to units or as a review at the end. Have students identify the main points in the video and relate it back to class information. Students can use the examples on the site to create their own videos about a topic they have studied that could be beneficial to others. If you do join the site to submit videos (for more adventurous technology users), we recommend uploading, commenting, and participating in the project (the creation and growth of WatchKnow) as a whole-class collaborative activity. Use this free site to create a private chat room where you can watch videos with others at multiple locations in real-time. Create a chat room and use the link to send to others. Use the Facebook app to post to Facebook. Watch the video synchronously while making comments in the chat window. Note: Members of the chat can change the video at any time, and it will change for all those in the private room. You can lock this function by going to settings, find this function, and choose between All members or Moderators only. Want to save the chat? Copy and paste to share later or use screenshots (command/shift/4 on a Mac or print screen on PC.) Save your room and go back later to view the chat and watch more videos with your friends. You can monitor the chat the same way you did for changing the video, moderators only. See How to Use Watch2Gether to find which video formats are supported.

Use for teaching a concept with others by viewing portions of videos and chatting content and main points. Use for reviewing materials for exams or preparing for project creation. Be sure to set up who can change videos and monitor the chat when in sessions with others. All of the following suggestions will extend your blended learning classroom: set up a snow day or evening video viewing time and URL to watch and discuss videos together with the teacher for extra help or enrichment; an online back to school night, share a video at a specified time and invite parents to join you and chat their questions. What a bonus for parents who travel and can't be there! Offer video/chat how-to sessions for major projects, such as science fairs or other major independent work. Enhance video instructions for any significant assignment by scheduling a Watch2gether session. Use Watch2gether with Khan Academy videos for math class. Make your "flipped" or blended learning classroom more social using Watch2gether.Edge Features:

Watchkin provides tools for a safer and cleaner view of YouTube videos. Use Watchkin to remove text, comments, thumbnail images, and most ads from any video on YouTube. Copy and paste the video URL into the Watchkin search box for automatic redirection to the clean version of the video. Install the bookmarklet on your search engine toolbar for easy video clean up while on the YouTube site. If your district blocks YouTube, then the videos may not be viewable.
