Turn Montana's state parks into outdoor classrooms with this collection of field trips, in-school programs, traveling trunks, and classroom-ready Indian Education for All resources. Teachers can browse programs at parks such as Bannack, Chief Plenty Coups, First Peoples Buffalo Jump, and Flathead Lake, with activities covering Native American history and culture, Montana history, geology, ecology, wildlife, art, health, and language arts. Lessons of Our Land offers teachers more than 200 ready-to-use lessons to bring Native American histories, cultures, land relationships, languages, inherent rights, and tribal sovereignty into regular classroom instruction. Developed by the nonprofit Indian Land Tenure Foundation, the interdisciplinary curriculum spans Pre-K through grade 12 and is designed for both Native and non-Native students. Students and teachers can use its Pixel, Vector, and Layout studios to edit photographs, create original graphics and logos, design posters or infographics, and produce polished multi-page publications such as newsletters, brochures, and portfolios. Its layer-based tools and customizable workspace make it a strong option for digital art, media, and presentation projects, particularly when students need more precise design controls than a basic online creation tool provides. The core software is free, although some Canva AI features available within Affinity may require a Pro Canva plan, which is free for educators by enrolling in Canva for Education, reviewed here.

ArcGIS StoryMaps is a web-based tool that helps teachers and students create interactive digital stories using maps, text, images, videos, audio, charts, and other media. Students can use it to show how people, places, events, and ideas are connected, making it useful for geography, social studies, science, history, and research projects. Teachers can also use publicly shared StoryMaps as virtual field trips or engaging introductions to a new topic. Students can create their own StoryMaps to share research, explain a historical journey, investigate a local issue, or present learning in a visual and organized way. Viewing public StoryMaps is free, but creating and publishing StoryMaps usually requires an ArcGIS Online account. Eligible U.S. K-12 schools may be able to receive access through Esri's no-cost Schools Mapping Software Bundle.
