During a class on environmental conservation, have students open this site on their individual computers. Looking at the site, what do they think would be the most beneficial actions to take to conserve land for bears? Use this site as a launchpad for a discussion of human-animal interaction and the effects humans have had on their habitats. This site would also be a useful resource for any student working on a research project, making it an excellent addition to the class wiki or web page so students can access it both in and out of the classroom!

While the basics will work well for high school, or even middle school students, we suspect teachers will find the other content less helpful. Try this one as a reference source for hardness, geologic time periods, and the like.
