Mootion uses AI tools to create video content from your prompts or a completed script. Mootion takes your script of up to 2500 characters and creates a storyboard with images for each paragraph or section of the story. When using a prompt, type in an idea, and Mootion generates a corresponding story. Options include choices of several output languages, style options, and video ratios corresponding to social media options. After adding a prompt or story and making customization choices, click generate to begin the video creation process. You will need to create a free account with Google, Discord, or your email. Each video uses 20 credits; free members receive 200 monthly credits. After generating the video, choose options to regenerate, add assets (your images), animate transitions, or download the video.

For example, when doing a crossword puzzle and only the first two letters are available, insert those letters along with *** for each missing letter. More Words will generate a list of words that meet the given criteria. Another option is to type in letters to find words that can be made from those letters including words formed by adding a new letter to the beginning or end of the letters you entered.

In the Classroom
Begin class with a short breathing or grounding exercise inspired by the podcast. Have students close their eyes, listen to their breath, and focus on one calming word or phrase. Have students complete a quick "How am I arriving today?" slip. They can choose a word that describes their mood and jot down one strategy they might use to stay focused or calm during class. After listening to an episode, have students create a card explaining the featured strategy, when to use it, and how it helps the brain. Mote is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to add voice notes to Google Documents, Google Classroom, Google Slides, Google Forms, and Sheets. It also supports transcription in over twenty languages. Begin by downloading Mote from the Chrome Store and allowing it to install on your browser. Once installed, click the Mote icon when in Google documents to record up to one minute using the free version. Students use the play button to listen to recordings within their document or view the text within a card created by Mote as a comment. Use your account activity page to monitor student engagement and see which students listened to or viewed your notes. Students also have the option to provide reactions to your messages. If students don't have the Mote extension, they receive a link to the Mote website to listen to the audio recording. This is a terrific resource to help your struggling writers and special needs students.

Make sure students are aware of copyright laws. Use this site to encourage the proper use of photographs for which students have authorization. Model including appropriate photo credits on the posters. Check out the Big Huge Labs educator account. Easily pre-register students to avoid creating logins, view and download their creations, and view the site advertisement-free. You will find information about the Educator Account here.Younger students can use this tool together as a whole-class activity or simply enjoy the posters their teacher creates. Have students create a picture about a unit topic with a caption using new terms learned. For example, create posters on predators and prey or on animal classifications. Students can create a poster of a study skill or learning activity that helps them learn. Create a caption that explains how the student learns best. Every subject area can use this resource to create interesting presentation posters for display or as springboards for discussing what was learned. For example, in Biology, students could create a poster on a cell part with a clever caption highlighting the importance of its function. In Literature or History, students can create posters about the perspectives of others in the story or in that historical period. Rather than a traditional research project, have cooperative learning groups use this site to show their knowledge in any subject area. Ask students to apply concepts such as constitutional rights by illustrating them in poster images with captions. Teachers can create bulletin board images, as well. Have a classroom motivation poster competition to start off the school year! Share the winners on your class wiki or in a PowerPoint presentation at back-to-school night/open house. As special occasions approach, have students bring in or take a digital photo they can turn into a poster as a family gift, with their own inspirational saying. Create a portfolio of 6-word stories, utilizing a powerful picture and 6 words to demonstrate the concept that was learned. Assign students the task of posting their project on a blog, with a more detailed explanation of their understanding of the concept depicted in the picture.

For example, use video clips to get students thinking about concepts such as tornadoes, animals, feelings, or decision-making. This site was developed with the idea that crucial concepts, themes, ideas, and fact sets taught in the classroom can be enhanced online through interactivity. Furthermore, for teachers to have a reliable K-8 internet site to use in the computer lab or at school, likely covering one or more themes currently being taught. The Language Arts portion of the site contains several activities that can supplement any Language Arts program. Spelling Central allows teachers to input their own spelling words, then converts the list into a word search, ABC order practice, missing-letter practice, and a mixed-up word activity that can be printed or practiced online by students. In addition, there are Language Arts games, reading comprehension exercises, story units, practice with commas, ABC order, nouns and pronouns, and more. Students will need to be cautioned to ignore the ads on the right-hand side of the page when exploring the site.

Videos are engaging and short enough to keep students interested (most run 2-4 minutes). This site includes everything from learning the alphabet to consonant blends to pronouns and much more. Note that the speaker is not American, so the accent may be different from what young students have heard before. There are app versions of many of the activities. If your district blocks YouTube, the videos may not be viewable.

This site has free stories, mainly fairy tales and folk tales, indexed by topic. Highlights include various holidays, international stories of all types, free reader's theater pieces, and free online recorded stories (click "Stories on CD" to access free downloads). All stories are "kid-tested" and uplifting. Students can make comments (and read other viewers' comments). They can search for stories by age (6-14), theme, story type, and location.

Use this site to find stories that represent the cultures of the students in your classroom, whether they are ESL students or from different ethnic backgrounds. By studying the folktales and myths of Africa and the Mayas, students understand the nature of myth and the variety of culture.

In the Classroom
Read some of these Mayan and African folktales as a class, discussing their similarities and differences. Demonstrate what the children learned by reading or listening by having them make a picture or rewrite a tale using aspects of American culture instead. After examining folktales, have students create and practice their own storytelling skills. Use plot diagrams and story maps to assist in the organization of their own stories. Use paper and pencil for the story map or a tool like MindMup reviewed here. Have student finalize their stories using Book Creator, reviewed here. As educators, we must prepare our lessons thinking of all learners. Students learning English as a new language (multilingual learners) are no exception. Recognizing that these students are likely to be fluent in other languages, ENL classes use specific instructional strategies that build on the linguistic strengths that these students have already demonstrated. Any content area teacher may find themselves designing lessons for this population. We share some resources to help you plan lessons that include strategies for your multilingual students in this collection.
