Twinkl offers a wide range of educational resources. They provide craft activity ideas for Mother's Day that can be used in classrooms or at home. These activities include printable templates, step-by-step craft instructions, and creative ideas to make personalized gifts and decorations. Some crafts have explanation videos that are hosted on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, then they may not be viewable.

In the Classroom
Choose from any of the crafts to create Mother's Day gifts. While the focus is Mother's Day, these crafts can be utilized in any subject area as a way for students to demonstrate their knowledge. Use Book Creator, reviewed here, to have students create interactive e-books that include stories, poems, and crafts for Mother's Day. You can then share the e-books with families. Many of the templates are PDFs. Have students upload them to a program like Canva Edu, reviewed here and they can type or draw on the PDFs. Then, share them electronically or print them out and to be displayed in the classroom. Incorporate math by having the students create pixel art using the cross-stitch activity.

Use anime to engage students in many topics by creating anime-style images with this resource. Spark creativity in writing projects by creating and displaying portraits with several moods, then ask students to create a story that accompanies the featured images. Share the images with students and ask them to include them on their story document created using Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Extend learning by allowing students to include anime images as part of comic strip stories created using a comic creation tool like ToonyTool, reviewed here. Create comics that tell the steps and outcomes of science experiments, describe Japanese landmarks, or retell folk tales. Adobe Firefly uses generative AI (artificial intelligence) and simple prompts to create images, text effects, and color palettes fueled by your imagination. Visit Firefly's Gallery for inspiration, or begin your journey by selecting from several options. Options include editing video, text-to-image, generative fill, text effects, regenerative color, 3D-to-image, and text-to-vector. Additional options are in Beta. After choosing an option and signing in to your account, follow the directions to add a prompt with what you wish to create. Use Firefly's filters and editing options to select one of the generated images and fine-tune it to your desired appearance. When satisfied with your creation, select the "more options" icon to download, copy, or copy the link to your image or save images to your library for later access.

After exploring the many applications of AI, ask students to debate the pros and cons of using Artificial Intelligence. Add Fun Stuff for Kids and Teams to your science and art bookmarks to use across many different content areas. For example, one activity is called Journey Through an Exploded Star; share a link to this interactive with students to explore before introducing lessons on stars and supernovas. Ask students to share their learning and add questions using IdeaBoardz, reviewed here. Create an IdeaBoardz with two columns (or more if desired), then share the link with students to share information and questions with peers. Encourage student engagement in animal-related learning by introducing them to the Art Meets Science Collections. Afterward, ask students to create multimedia projects incorporating animals as art to showcase scientific concepts like habitats, conservation, and human interactions. "AI is for Everyone, Everywhere" is a teacher research guide on integrating artificial intelligence into education. The research handbook includes webinars and The Hands-On AI Projects for the Classroom guide are from ISTE and GM. Guides contain innovative, student-driven projects that meet subject area standards while teaching students the foundations of AI and how it impacts our society. This research guide includes an extensive, downloadable document with in-depth projects and lesson plans to teach students about artificial intelligence. Separate guides are available for elementary, secondary, electives, computer science, and ethics and are available in multiple languages, including; English, Spanish, and Arabic. Look at the projects by scrolling down the page and finding the section that says 1. Select a group, 2. Select a Language. Then you download the PDF Guide.

In the Classroom
Read over the guide deciding which parts need to be shared with the class. Introduce the guide and the projects to students on an interactive whiteboard or with a projector through the part "activate prior knowledge." Then pair more computer savvy students with novice computer users or weak readers with stronger readers as needed. Next, the student-driven approach to the projects includes "Take a Closer Look" activities are scaffolded, guided learning activities that connect subject-area content and artificial intelligence concepts. "Culminating Performances" are meaningful performance tasks that challenge students to synthesize their learning and reflect on what they have learned. Once students have finished the first project, consider setting up computer stations for students to try out the different AI projects. Engage your middle and high school students with Working in Harmony. Discovery Ed and CMA have worked together to create this educational STEAM site. These standards-aligned activities demonstrate how diverse country music careers apply STEAM skills. With activities aligned with the "This is STEAM Country Video Topic Series," students can hear how STEAM skills are used in industry. Find a virtual tour and many activities and lesson plans. Though Working in Harmony features country music, the activities and lessons can be applied to various award shows and music genres.
In the Classroom
As the activities are completed, engage students further by using Padlet, reviewed here to explain how the concepts in each actiivty could be applied to their favorite music genre. Book Creator includes a built-in language translator for ten languages. If you need additional translation help, download and use Microsoft Translator for Education, reviewed here, or Google Language Tools, reviewed here to translate virtually any language. Provide additional language learning opportunities by asking students to create books in English and their native language and make them available by sharing them on your class website or Google Classroom.
