Dynamic Learning Maps are assessments created to be administered to individuals with disabilities to inform instruction. The field test will be completed in the fall of 2014. There are tons of information to look at for Dynamic Learning Maps. Three different types of professional development modules are now available, focusing on which students have the most significant disabilities. Get professional development on the Universal Design for Learning. Training modules include Principles of Effective English Language Arts Instruction and Standards of Mathematical Practice. Included are facilitators' guides and handouts. Find some exemplary text supports for students with disabilities. Parents and students with disabilities can also find suggested resources to aid in educational pursuits.

PBS shares this journey through the eyes of participants as they interview leaders from many different career paths. Use links to watch many seasons of the series, or choose the Roadtrips option to view interviews by locations. Explore the various trips by interest, themes, or music. High school students have the opportunity to participate in road trips by applying through the Roadtrip Nation website.

That possibility is now available with InVideo AI, an AI-powered video creation tool that turns ideas into videos in just a few minutes. After creating a free account, enter a detailed prompt describing the video you want to create. InVideo AI generates a script, selects media, adds voice narration, and assembles a video based on your instructions. Once the video is created, you can edit scenes, modify the script, change media, adjust voiceovers, or regenerate portions of the project as needed. When finished, export the video to your device or share it via the available publishing options. InVideo AI can be used to create educational videos, presentations, explainers, social media content, and more. QuestionWell uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate multiple-choice questions, learning objectives, essential questions, and more based on your text. Begin by signing in using your Google or Microsoft account, then add a topic, select a language (QuestionWell responds in over a dozen languages), and paste an optional reading passage. Leave the reading passage blank for QuestionWell to write a passage for you. When ready, click "Generate Set" to generate a set of multiple-choice questions and, if selected, the reading passage. Choose all questions, remove any unwanted ones, or add your own before sharing them with students. When ready, use the export link to print your quiz or share it with several sites, including Wayground (formerly Quizizz), reviewed here, Google Forms, reviewed here, and others. Free accounts allow members to copy and paste reading passages of up to 1,000 words and create multiple-choice questions.

If you've never used a poll before or would like to like to use survey information more effectively, click on Solutions in the top menu, and slide down to K-12 to begin. There you will find field-tested templates for schools and a link for the "survey process." Share polls on BYOD devices or laptops/tablets to assess prior knowledge as you start a new unit and ask questions about the material. If you do not have individual devices, project the survey to uncover misconceptions by having students discuss in groups why they would choose a particular answer. Use for daily quiz questions as a formative assessment. Use a class account to have student groups alternate to create a new poll for the next day. Place a poll on your teacher web page as a homework inspiration or to ask parent questions and increase involvement. Older students may want to include polls on their student blogs to increase reader engagement. Have students create polls for the start of project presentations. Use polls to generate data for math class (graphing), during elections, or for critical thinking activities dealing with the interpretation of statistics. This site is a collection of listening and/or listening/reading exercises that use the technique of total physical response. The student must listen to a phrase and select the correct picture that corresponds to it. The author of the site suggests trying the activity before clicking to see that the right answer has been selected. The collection of 30 plus exercises uses stick figurines and a loosely connected theme for each separate page. These exercises and directions were created in the Netherlands, and clearly the directions were not written by a strong English language speaker, but the exercises themselves are quite useful.

Quickly create infographics as a schema activator or lesson introduction by typing in the topic of your lesson. Discuss the information shared on the infographic and ask students to share additional ideas that support their current understanding of the content. Share the infographic creator with students to include with multimedia presentations, book reports, or oral presentations. Students can create infographics about a classroom topic, relationships, definitions of significant terms, lab information, and more. Imagine conversing with George Washington, Sigmund Freud, Thomas Edison, or any other historical character. Character.AI provides the tools to engage in fictional chats with any character or group of characters, real or made-up. Search for the name of a character, and a chat window opens with a conversation starter. Use the arrows in each character response to view additional options.

In the Classroom
Always tell students that these chats are made up, not conversations. Use Character.AI in many ways to encourage student discussion and critical thinking activities. For example, choose Thomas Jefferson as a character and ask questions about his thoughts on today's Federalist Society. Scroll through the different responses provided and ask students to select one of the responses to research further. As another option, ask for responses from several characters, such as James Madison and Benjamin Franklin, and then compare them. Use Padlet, reviewed here to share resources and information for students to use when conducting their research. Include links to primary source documents, videos, and articles. Extend learning by asking students to create multimedia presentations using Canva Edu, reviewed here to share their findings. This guide in the Help I lost my library/media specialist series offers a step-by-step approach to teaching students how to use "big 5" reference materials that are available in most school libraries or classrooms to locate information. The Background Knowledge section asks you to consider whether the resource you are using is outdated; if it is, there are several suggestions for more current resources. You will also find sections for Activities and Extensions for the different resources, adaptable to most age groups.

Take a high-level look at what theorists and practicing "creative people" say about creative process, and find practical ways to make that process a habit in your classroom. Download customizable assignments and rubrics as examples to use with middle and high school students. Young Adult Books Central, a section of Kids Books Central, is for tweens and teens to find and discuss books. Read book reviews by teens and staff reviewers, author interviews, and chapter excerpts. Books include two ratings: one by editors and one by site readers. Search to find books by top rated, recently added, most reviewed, and audio books (not all audio books are free). Find books for younger children in the "Kids" section. Members can write reviews; however membership is not necessary for other portions of the site. Although aimed at all tweens and teens, most reviews on the main page appear to be books that would appeal only to girls. You may need to take time to explore the site to find material for boys.

Create a link on classroom computers, your website, or your blog to use as a resource for students to find independent reading material. For younger students, share the link directly to the Kids section. Be sure to share this site with parents at Back-to-School night. View book reviews together. Have students find examples of well-written reviews and poorly written reviews. Have students create their own book reviews.
