Bring culturally responsive American Indian education into lessons across the curriculum with this extensive collection from the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Indian Education for All (IEFA) provides classroom-ready lessons, curriculum guides, videos, posters, professional learning materials, and implementation resources developed with advice and assistance from cultural consultants from Montana Tribal Nations. Tribal-specific materials also receive input and review from members of the Montana Advisory Council on Indian Education who represent those Tribal Nations. Teachers can browse resources by areas including art, language arts, mathematics, music, science, social studies, health and family-consumer sciences, videos, and remote learning. Materials span early elementary through high school and address topics such as tribal diversity, sovereignty, traditional knowledge, contemporary Native experiences, history, literature, art, mathematics, science, and Montana's Tribal Nations. The site also features the Essential Understandings Regarding Montana Indians, implementation guidance, recorded professional-development sessions, and links to additional tribal and national resources. Lessons of Our Land offers teachers more than 200 ready-to-use lessons to bring Native American histories, cultures, land relationships, languages, inherent rights, and tribal sovereignty into regular classroom instruction. Developed by the nonprofit Indian Land Tenure Foundation, the interdisciplinary curriculum spans Pre-K through grade 12 and is designed for both Native and non-Native students. Teachers can search lessons by grade, subject, and academic standard, and some materials are tailored to California, South Dakota, Montana, or Minnesota while remaining adaptable for use elsewhere. Individual lessons may include teacher background, achievement goals, materials, student activities, discussion questions, maps, stories, research tasks, and downloadable PDFs. Explore research, classroom materials, campaigns, and media resources created to increase accurate, contemporary representation of Native peoples and challenge stereotypes and invisibility. IllumiNative worked with Native-led organizations, Tribal Nations, educators, artists, and community leaders to change public narratives about Native peoples. Although the organization sunset in 2025, its website remains available as an archive of research and projects. Educators will find especially useful K-12 activity guides developed with the National Indian Education Association, Amplifier, and Nia Tero, including materials on Native art, storytelling, food sovereignty, traditional games, language, notable Native leaders, boarding schools, contemporary identity, and Indigenous Peoples' Day. Resources are organized into collections for Pre-K-2, grades 3-5, and grades 6-8, with additional educator lesson plans and research to support older students.

Students and teachers can use its Pixel, Vector, and Layout studios to edit photographs, create original graphics and logos, design posters or infographics, and produce polished multi-page publications such as newsletters, brochures, and portfolios. Its layer-based tools and customizable workspace make it a strong option for digital art, media, and presentation projects, particularly when students need more precise design controls than a basic online creation tool provides. The core software is free, although some Canva AI features available within Affinity may require a Pro Canva plan, which is free for educators by enrolling in Canva for Education, reviewed here.

Its simple interface lets you adjust colors, direction, and style, and it provides ready-to-use gradients for presentations, graphics, websites, and other digital projects. Use search and filters to find color palettes, adjust styles, angles, and steps to create and personalize gradients for any need. Download your Grabient designs by clicking the copy icon, then choose an image format such as SVG or PNG, and download it to your device. Registration isn't required; however, free registration allows you to save favorites to your account.

Khan Academy offers a collection of engaging logic puzzles and brain teasers that challenge students to use problem-solving, reasoning, and critical-thinking skills. The puzzles are best suited for middle and high school students and cover a variety of mathematical and logical concepts. Many activities include instructional videos that walk students through the problem and explain the reasoning behind the solution, along with written transcripts for additional support. Featured challenges include Cheryl's Birthday, the Toggler Brain Teaser, the Lightbulb Switch Brain Teaser, and other puzzles designed to encourage students to think creatively and persist through challenging problems. Khan Academy is free to use, although some features may require users to sign in or create a free account.

Turn students into experts with Jigsaw, a cooperative learning strategy that divides a reading or topic among small groups. Students begin in "home groups," move into "expert groups" to study one portion of the material, and then return to teach what they learned to their original group. The Teacher Toolkit provides clear preparation and implementation directions, suggestions for when to use the strategy, an expert-panel variation, and downloadable elementary, secondary, and Spanish templates, including editable Google Doc versions. Jigsaw can help students build comprehension while practicing cooperation, communication, discussion, and problem-solving skills. The site also suggests using the strategy to build background knowledge, study authors, examine different viewpoints, compare concepts, and review before an assessment. If your district blocks YouTube, you may not be able to view the video.
