Lessons of Our Land offers teachers more than 200 ready-to-use lessons to bring Native American histories, cultures, land relationships, languages, inherent rights, and tribal sovereignty into regular classroom instruction. Developed by the nonprofit Indian Land Tenure Foundation, the interdisciplinary curriculum spans Pre-K through grade 12 and is designed for both Native and non-Native students. Teachers can search lessons by grade, subject, and academic standard, and some materials are tailored to California, South Dakota, Montana, or Minnesota while remaining adaptable for use elsewhere. After hearing the first clue, viewers should pause and try to guess and research the answer. When ready, move on to the next clue, pause, and try to guess again. In the Classroom
Include 5 Clue Challenges as a schema activator to introduce a new teaching unit, such as a geography unit on European countries. Include these activities alongside lessons on research, source reliability, or map skills. Challenge students to play in groups and earn points using the system described in each video: five points for guessing correctly on the first try, four points on the second try, and so on. Extend learning by having students create their own 5 Clue Challenges using information available on the site. The John McCoy (lulilas) Since Time Immemorial curriculum is a substantial collection of ready-to-use lessons and supporting materials about tribal sovereignty, Native history, culture, treaties, government-to-government relationships, and the continuing presence of tribal nations in Washington State. Resources are organized for early learning, elementary, middle school, and high school and include unit overviews, downloadable lessons, videos, primary-source materials, assessments, implementation guides, and professional-learning resources. Individual units connect tribal perspectives with Washington history, geography, environmental study, English language arts, social-emotional learning, and civics. Many lessons encourage educators to work with local tribes and to teach about distinct sovereign nations rather than presenting Native peoples as one generalized group.

In the Classroom
Engage students by having them closely read treaties, maps, oral histories, quotations, photographs, and tribal accounts. Ask them to annotate evidence of sovereignty, compare tribal and state or federal responsibilities, sort examples into cultural, political, economic, historical, and environmental categories, or discuss how historical decisions continue to affect communities today. Younger learners can listen to tribally appropriate stories, sketch connections among land, water, plants, animals, and community, and compare oral traditions with other ways history is preserved. Students can plot tribal homelands, treaty areas, waterways, and present-day tribal governments with Google My Maps, reviewed here, while clearly distinguishing historical territories from current reservation boundaries.

Google Gemini is a multipurpose AI chat tool that lets you text, code, and create images, audio, and video. The chatbot assistant includes many options to support users' needs, such as uploading files from your device and Google Drive, photos, avatars, and Gemini Notebooks (formerly NotebookLM), reviewed here. Use the plus sign in the message box to stipulate the output; for example, choose create image, create music, or Canvas (code, write, or make slides). Gemini also integrates Google Gems, customizable apps for repetitive tasks. Choose the three dots at the end of any chat response to listen to the response, export to Google Docs, or start a draft in Gmail.
