Animated Drawing is a nifty online tool that incorporates a four-step process to bring life to simple character drawings. Use the sample drawings to get an overview of the example images. Begin by following the initial checklist that provides guidelines for successful use, including giving a drawing of one character on a white, well-lit background. When ready, upload your photo and follow the prompts to resize, separate, and find the character joints. The final step offers choices to change the motions of your character to dancing, walking, jumping, or funny. Finally, use the share icon to download the image as an mp4 file, share it to social media sites, or copy a link to the page with your animated image.

Merlot (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) is a curated collection of free learning and support materials for educators that includes almost 100,000 learning resources in all content areas and grade levels. Search information on the site in several ways, such as using a keyword or searching by ISBN, materials, or members. Use the dropdown box labeled "Browse" at the top of the page to conduct a more focused search by grade level, content, type of material, and mobile platform. All available content includes clickable peer reviews and user ratings with an overview of the material, recommended uses, and target student population. Registration isn't required; however, it allows you to bookmark and save topics. In addition, registration offers access to Merlot's Content Builder (website maker) and a Course ePortfolio.

Are you looking for some great STEAM projects to do in your classroom? Instructables.com has a curated collection of STEAM projects complete with step-by-step directions, photos, and tips for completion. Some even have video clips to help with the directions. Projects range in age level from lower elementary to high school. The contributor, The Oakland Toy Lab, designed everything with accessibility in mind. Each project can be created with widely available and relatively low-cost materials. In addition, teachers can create a free account to download printable PDFs of step-by-step directions of each activity.
Be aware that this collection is posted as a part of a larger website of community-contributed content, so some Instructables may not be appropriate for a school environment.

Here, teachers can find one hundred unique, already tried and tested STEAM projects for their classrooms. Teachers can use them as written or as a starting point and modify them to fit their own needs. Perhaps creating a makerspace with several activities and supplies available to choose from would be an excellent station for early finishers in your room. This Google Arts and Culture Experiment is an engaging tool to introduce painting and musical composition. Share this site for students to explore in the computer lab or as part of computer center time. If you have Google Classroom, ask students to share their favorite compositions directly into your classroom. If you don't use Google Classroom, show students how to find the URL for their creation and create a Padlet, reviewed here, for students to share their links. Create columns in the Padlet for different canvases offered on the experiment and ask students to reflect upon their creation and why they chose it as a favorite. This unique collaboration between Google and many of the world's most respected art museums enables viewers to discover the museum's thousands of artworks in extraordinary detail. The museums provided all content about individual artworks. Visit over 2,000 museums without leaving home through the lens of Google Arts & Culture's presentations. Explore the studios of famous artists, take virtual tours of historical cities, or use the search bar to find art in the "selfie" category (then take a selfie to find a piece that looks like you). Use the menu (the three lines at the top-left of your screen) to choose from the different collections, themes, and experiments. Collections include resources for learning about art, music, and drama through various options. Other choices include searches by artist, historical event, and art movement. You won't want to leave the profusion of engaging content at this site!

Discover the world of Shapegrams, a tool for teaching students how to use Google Draw and Slide. There is a mix of free and purchase Shapegrams on the site. This site provides inspiration and tools for understanding Google Draw and Slides features and incorporating them into student-created drawings. Select one of the free drawings to begin. Choose to make a copy of the instructions, make a copy without YouTube, download QR codes, or download the video. Be sure to review the important tips for sharing with students that point out different options for use in Google Classroom, SeeSaw, and other learning management systems.
In the Classroom
Take advantage of the free lessons and additional images found on the site to teach your students (and yourself) the many different features available with Google Draw. A new Shapegram is added each week, share the image with students, and challenge them to create it using their new skills. Ask students to create Shapegrams in a variety of ways throughout the curriculum. Enhance learning by having students draw a scene representing a moment in a story, create an emoticon to represent their understanding of math content, or make a drawing demonstrating a science experiment. Incorporate student drawings into digital projects. Include drawings in digital books created with Book Creator, reviewed here, upload and use in explainer videos created using Adobe Express Video Maker, reviewed here, or save images as JPEG files and include in student-created games made with Scratch, reviewed here. As students create their own drawings, ask them to share with their peers by creating a screen recording using Free Screen Recorder Online, reviewed here. ArtsNow provides a large variety of resources for teaching and integrating art across the curriculum. Choose from Curriculum Guides, Modules, or Integrated Units to begin. Browse the Curriculum Guides by grade level or content. Download any guide in PDF format for a complete lesson overview including, correlation to National and Georgia state standards. This site also includes several integrated units for grades K-7. Download any unit for all unit resources including, activities, rubrics, and suggestions for differentiation. Choose modules for grades K-5 that integrate STEAM activities. Modules include a strong focus on integrating the arts with science concepts such as magnets and ecosystems. Don't miss the Video Modules and the At Home Resources found under the Resources tab at the top right corner of the page.

In the Classroom
Take advantage of these free lesson plans and classroom activities to integrate art into your everyday classroom activities. Consider coordinating lessons with your school's art and music teachers. Expand upon the ideas found on this site to bring other art forms into the lessons. For example, take advantage of poetry resources and interactives found at ReadWriteThink, reviewed here, and have students create diamante, acrostic, and haiku poems relating to your lessons. Enhance student learning further by asking students or groups of students to create webpages sharing their learning activities using a resource like Carrd, reviewed here. This very simple tool allows users to add images and text to create a beautiful website using the provided templates. Be sure to ask students to include a reflective writing piece describing their learning throughout your unit. Take learning to the highest level and ask students to design and create a series of podcasts using Adobe Podcast, reviewed here. Ask students to discuss their learning activities, and also hypothesize on different outcomes of experiments when changing elements or activities. For example, if creating a podcast discussing changes in matter, have students share their thoughts on how the room and outdoor temperature affects outcomes. What if they used juice instead of water? Would the change from ice to liquid take the same amount of time?
