This diverse collection of resources provides many opportunities to experience the culture of Indigenous Peoples of the Americas through visual arts, dance, music, and more. Resources include lessons for grades K-8 that focus on learning about indigenous people through integrating the arts with science, social studies, and language arts. Other resources include videos that feature Native Americans discussing their crafts through interviews and storytelling. The videos are hosted on YouTube. This Carnegie Hall site provides free and low-cost educational programs that support music learning worldwide. Free offerings include recordings of live stream concerts from Carnegie Hall, family resources including activities and videos for all ages, and resources for music educators. Browse through the educator resources divided into three sections - grades K-5, grades 6-12, and professional development. The videos are hosted on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, then they may not be viewable.

In the Classroom
Use the Carnegie Hall free resources to provide music education to students as part of your music education curriculum or within your role as a classroom teacher. For example, as part of social studies lessons about countries worldwide, be sure to see the activity for learning about countries through song. Many resources feature videos; engage and enhance instruction by adding questions and comments to videos using MoocNote, reviewed here. If your district blocks YouTube, flip your classroom and have students watch the MoocNote/Youtube videos at home. Include activities as part of a larger learning unit that includes online information, quizzes, and additional videos using a learning delivery platform such as Curipod, reviewed here. Curipod provides simple to use tools that make it easy to share a variety of resources with students and differentiate instruction.

The rhythm trainer provides tools for learning about and improving rhythm through six different training activities, tempo trainer, and metronome generators. As a new player to the site, begin with the First Steps activity that provides sounds for you to match the rhythm. This activity increases in difficulty as you select correct responses. Registration isn't required; however, creating an account allows you to save progress within each activity.

In the Classroom
Share this site on your classroom website for students to practice and explore rhythm in a variety of different ways. Incorporate the activities into a complete online lesson including videos, articles, and quizzes using Actively Learn, reviewed here. Actively Learn includes tools for students to take notes and complete assessments within the online lesson. Have students enhance their learning by using a screen recording tool like Free Online Screen Recorder, reviewed here, to demonstrate their progress within each activity. In the Classroom
Use the activities found on this site to guide music lessons or integrate music into curricular areas. For example, use the lesson called Music and Animals to incorporate poetry and music into your animal unit. Gather the items found on the instrument making directions to create a maker space area for students to explore and experiment with different ways to create sounds. Ask students to document their steps with photographs, and when finished, ask students to create videos sharing their instruments using Adobe Express Video Maker, reviewed here.
